Hi 👋 I’m Jess — the Owner & Lead Wingsmith at Jack Be Nimble Kids, and mom to one *very* adventurous, nature-obsessed toddler.

After my son was born, I couldn't help but notice that kids today are loosing their connection to the natural world and the freedom of outside play. Playing outside everyday with my son - even just for a few minutes - is when I feel most present as a mom, and where my son is absolutely the happiest. This is what inspires me to pour my heart into Jack Be Nimble's creations 🧡

At Jack Be Nimble, we create nature-inspired costumes made from natural, washable materials — thoughtfully designed to spark whimsical adventures and help families spend more time outside. Whether it’s a backyard safari, a garden fairy tea party, or a sunset nature quest, my greatest hope is that our costumes make pretend play just a little more magical (and a lot more fun). 🌿

Here are a few of my favorite ways I bring whimsy into my own son’s everyday play:

🦋 Butterfly Mornings 🦋
He "drinks nectar" while we water the garden — flapping his wings from flower to flower with awe.

🐚 Stingray Beach Days🐚
Living near the ocean means we get to pretend we’re sea creatures washed ashore for important beach business.

✨ Firefly Nights ✨
Our light-up Firefly wings are a hit at summer events — they make him feel *super cool* and I can always spot him after dark.

🦸‍♂️ Superhero Walks 🦸‍♂️
Our cape gives him turbo speed on family walks. I can barely keep up these days — and I love it.

...And the best part? When those wings or capes end up in a mud puddle or dirt pile (as they should)... I just toss them in the wash. Easy.
