If you’ve ever stepped foot into a Waldorf classroom, you will notice a few distinct things. There is great attention to making the space feel aesthetically pleasing and home-like. Steiner emphasized the environment as being a conductor to holistic development in early childhood.

There will be toys made of natural materials like wood, silk, wool, cotton or linen. The colors on the walls will be some pastel shade of the rainbow. There will likely be an oven, as children bake bread in class.

This beautiful environment invites children to rest in their imagination and gives them the spark to cultivate a sense of wonder!

Have you ever seen a Waldorf classroom before? Are you trying to create a Waldorf environment at home? I’d love to know!

My daughter is wearing beautiful monarch wings in this video that can be found at @modernrascals they are 100% cotton and perfect for imaginative play! You can use code WILDERNESTED to save 10%! Lots of beautiful Waldorf aligned toys, books and crafting materials on her site❤️

🎃🦹We still have some adorable costume pieces in the shop by @jackbenimblekids and @worldofwhimm!🦄🐞🐝🦋

🧵The sweet sets of hand-painted wings are beyond darling! The ladybug wings feature two tulle under-wings and all of them have a bit of elastic for little hands at the end of the wings to make "flying" a breeze as well as wide elastic shoulder straps that are comfortable for little ones to wear! Their amazing creator, Sarah, values producing high-quality dress-up costumes that are meant to be lived in.😍

Perfect for your autumn photo shoots and trick-or-treating, these lovingly crafted pieces are handmade in Asheville, NC with 100% cotton fabric and polyester fill to give them shape and support (one-size wings fit most children ages 2-10).

Kayce's awesome superhero headbands and mask + cuff sets are carefully crafted with love in Mukilteo, WA, and are so wonderfully fun. With these comfy wrist cuffs and coordinating masks, anyone can be a superhero!💥🧙🦸‍♀️💥

They're great for inspiring creative play (her fiber art pieces are always so unique, and are gentle and easy for any little hands grasping them). What a lovely gift for the wee one in your life!🤗

Be sure to grab your favorite handmade costume items before they sell out next week! Find them on thehandmadshowroom.com, or stop by our 3rd-floor @pacific_place Seattle shop any day of the week from 12pm - 7pm to claim your favorite!

Last night at bedtime Eleanor asked me to sing her a song, a frozen one, an Anna song. So I sang her my best calming rendition of “For the First Time in Forever.” About halfway through she gave me a pitiful look and a small hug and said, “oh mom, you’re not Anna” 😂😐
