“What the heck is Jackie doing starting a fudge business?” I know some of you thought it. Some of you might still be thinking it. Honestly, fair. Let me back up. I taught myself drums at 13 and filmed it for YouTube, and somewhere along the way those videos picked up millions of views. But nobody tells you a drum channel isn’t just drumming. I had to learn how to shoot it, light it, record the audio, edit it, and a million miscellaneous things I just had to FIGURE out. I was also THAT person hand-coding MySpace layouts before I knew that was a thing people got paid for. Then a comm and marketing degree. Then Nashville, to pursue marketing, right? No. Drums. Then a startup where I ended up running customer service and learned what people actually sound like when something isn’t working. Then my own production company, Entertwine Media. Then, the curveball. Fudge. I built Fudge Fairy Co. from absolutely nothing. The name, the store, the photos, the voice. (Even my culinary background, lol.) It felt weird starting a business I felt like I had, well... no business in! Or was it? That was the moment it clicked. None of it was scattered. It was training. God always has a plan. So here’s the real answer to the fudge question. Fudge Fairy was never just fudge. It was me finally getting to use all of it at once. And that turns out to be the thing I’m actually best at (besides drumming). I take an idea, or a brand that’s already there but hasn’t figured out how to show itself yet, and I make it come to life. Trading the usual iPhone self timer struggles for a local photographer was easily the best thing I did on this trip with my dad and brother back in May. Because if I’m honest, I always end up being in charge of pics considering my background in media 😂🥲 Outside of holiday pics, getting the three of us together in one frame is rare. I highly recommend doing this if you want memories captured on trips where you don’t need to fiddle with a tripod or iPhone - or remember to do it in the first place.
