Tea with… Christmas Special 🍰☕️🎄

📆 Tuesday 2nd* and Wednesday 3rd Dec
🕒 3pm
📍Ramsay Room, Clonter Opera Theatre

Reuniting the two principles from Clonter’s 2023 production of the Magic Flute - Pamina - @hannahobriensoprano and Tamino - @jackroberts1308, accompanied by Robin Humphreys 🎶

This increasingly popular Clonter event consists of an hour of music, followed by traditional afternoon tea, including all your favourite sandwiches, with crusts cut off, and a tiered cake stand of goodies 🤩

Could this make the perfect Christmas present, or is it something you might enjoy for a Christmas outing with friends? 🎅🏼

Clonter also offers a ‘relaxed’ performance – on Tuesday 2nd December* – which was introduced to offer people in care homes, or for those being cared for at home, and their carers, something to go to together during the day. This opportunity has also been extended to those with other disabilities.

Previous audience feedback…

Wednesday Tea
💬 “It was a very enjoyable afternoon, the singers and pianist were first class and it was a very intimate session.”

Tuesday Tea – Relaxed Performance*
💬 “It was brilliant. My mum, who has dementia, had one of her best days out in years. It was lovely and warm in the building, the tea was just the right size, and the cakes were delicious… The songs were a good mix of old and new… The old songs took her back. She was in such a good mood afterwards, it was just like having her back.”

✨ A Night with Our Friends & Patrons ✨

On Saturday night, The Ramsay Room came alive with music as we welcomed back soprano @isabelgarciaraujo, tenor @jackroberts1308, and pianist @annamichelspiano for an evening to thank our Friends, Patrons, and donors for all their support for yet another year 💫

Together they treated the gathered throng to a rich variety of repertoire that ranged from Rimsky-Korsakov to Gilbert and Sullivan, via something Portuguese, to share a taste of Isabel’s homeland. They also treated both attendees at this year’s Tosca, and those that didn’t make it, to Vissi d’arte, as well as a good dollop of Puccini’s La bohème and West Side Story.

It was a joy to share and celebrate our joint love of music with those who support Clonter so generously.

If you would like to be part of this very up close and intimate annual event - plus enjoy many other benefits throughout the year - simply become a Friend of Clonter 🎶

🎭 Meet Jack Roberts (Harlekin) and Henrik Enger Holm (Ein Soldat)—two roles that bring piercing clarity and haunting irony to Der Kaiser von Atlantis.

Harlekin brings levity and humanity into a world unraveling, while the Soldier faces the absurd reality of war without death. Together, their scenes cut straight to the heart of Viktor Ullmann’s dark, brilliant score.

Catch them on stage in one of the most thought-provoking operas of the 20th century.
