Kenzie, I remember when I first met you. I thought you were kind, thoughtful, funny, and beautiful. I was so excited when I first got to call you my girlfriend. Over the past few years I have discovered that you are more incredible than I ever could have imagined. You are an incredible friend to those around you, you make everything feel like it is okay even on the worst days, you brighten every room you walk into, and you love me so well. I can’t believe it has already been three years of dating the most amazing girlfriend I could ever ask for! When I asked you to go to the coronation dance with me in the tenth grade, I had no idea that it would turn into finding someone who can always make me laugh and smile, who comforts me when I have hard days, who prays for me, and who makes the distance between college and home not feel so far. I’m so excited to announce that I will be attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville this fall to continue my academic/athletic pursuits! I would like to thank Coach Cain for giving me this amazing opportunity; running is such an instrumental part of my life, & the chance to run at the collegiate level is such a blessing. I would also love to thank my coaches for investing so heavily in me as both a student-athlete & a person. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without you Mr. & Mrs. Coach Nails & Hunter Nails, Coach Heath, & Coach Cargill. I also want to thank my parents for always being my biggest supporters and cheerleaders. Thank you mom and dad for being at every late night track meet, getting up at 5am to drive to cross country races, buying me all the running shoes I need, and for always encouraging me through the PRs and the injuries. The Lord has blessed me tremendously through my time at Southside High School, & I couldn’t be happier to continue my journey at UAH. Go Chargers! by @jackson__griggs
