People talk about separation defined by land, borders and orders, but the ocean doesn’t create borders it moves, breathes, balances and connects. If you sit with the ocean long enough it will teach you something, that change is a constant but so is kindness and a smile. It will teach you respect and humility, and that you should care for all that you can see because if you take without giving back you will turn a miracle into a memory.

Two river rats danced the yaks through gin clear wave trains guarded by sleeping giants. Gravel and inches on the swamp red carpet 🙏🏽

An adventure to remember and big step outside the comfort zone: accelerated training program ✅ over 100km of paddling ✅ 17 days in the bush ✅ plenty of uncertainty ✅ hunting ✅ surfing ✅ diving ✅ annual BB wellness retreat ✅ loved every moment ✅ Thank you @hankbilous for leading the charge and glad I could give back once we could hunt and got coastal!

An amateur surfer, sailor, spearo and animator attempts an amateur short to capture moments from Indonesia in just a couple of minutes.

This is the result.

I didn’t feel comfortable just capturing the good of indo without trying to understand at least at surface level for now some of the challenges facing their environment, doing some reading, and having a couple conversations…. maybe a way to help in a small way will come out of this process and a good reason to keep coming back.

Coral munching starfish, with attitude!

Taramea / crown of thorns starfish belong on these reefs. They’re native, and at low densities they feed selectively on the fast-growing corals. The trouble starts when their numbers surge.

We joined to help @grow_aitutaki Kōi Taramea project on the outer reef along the western side of the island. The crew is largely local kids aged 11 to 15, and they’ve removed hundreds and hundreds of Taramea already!
