Marathon worlds 2025🛶🇭🇺

This years worlds was a very special one for me not because of what I managed to achieve but the journey it took to get there🥹It was tough losing my coach Pete who was the best ever😔

He believed in me when I never believed in myself. To watch the universe take him away like that was just heartbreaking💔Life can be cruel but it teaches you to live everyday to its fullest as you never know when it will be your last✨

The start of my K1 race was not great - I had to dig deep to get back on the front pack. I’m beyond happy to have achieved a 🥉 in U23 K1 in my last year in U23🥹

I dedicate this to Pete who never gave up on me and helped me improve in my paddling🕊️I will never forget you and everything that you taught me❤️

I also managed to get an amazing 4th place in the K2 just short of a podium position with my amazing partner @jnisbet10 It was an honor paddling with you - we never gave up and fought until the very end💪🏼❤️

I was overwhelmed by the amount of belief and support that team SA and everyone else had in me🥹Thank you to everyone who supported me in Hungary and everyone back home especially the Orka squad for all those cold,hard winter sessions❤️🥶

Big shout out to Alexa @orkapaddles for helping me with my boat and for all the advice🫶🏼

What a journey it’s been! If someone would’ve told me that I would one day win a SA Marathons K1 title I would not have believed it🥺A dream come true for me!

The journey to get to this point has not been easy. Last year was hugely disappointing for me being plagued by constant illness and uncertainty about whether I would ever make a comeback but god had different plans for me!

All these setbacks I’ve faced in my life have made me stronger and more determined to achieve my goals regardless of setbacks💪🏼

Its been a fun and exciting weekend of racing in st,Francis in the place that I love! I’m super happy to have won the SA U23/Senior Women K1 Marathon title🏆
Coming 🥈in K2 with my amazing training partner Nix was equally special🫶🏼to top my weekend off, the cherry on the top was coming 🥈U23 and 🥉overall in the Surfski Worlds selection trial against a really strong field of amazing paddlers despite feeling shattered from 3 days of back to back racing😮‍💨🥵

Now the hard work really begins for World Marathon Champs in Denmark in August🇩🇰and World Surfski Champs in Aus later this year🇦🇺🤩

All of this would not have been possible without the support of so many people! you know who you are❤️

World Ocean Ski Champs 2026 Spain🌎🌊

A World Champs that exceeded all expectations!☺️Huge credit to the Spanish for putting on an unforgettable event, with record-breaking entries!🙌🏼

4th overall in the singles, just 7 seconds off the podium!🥹Massive congrats to Jemma, Kira and Rosie on their podium finishes💪🏼It was an honour to race against such an incredibly strong women’s field and be part of a record-breaking number of female entries. The future of our sport is looking so bright!🤩

🥈in the mixed doubles the following day with the legend himself @hankmcgregor ! An unforgettable highlight of the week! Dicing it out at the front in tough, technical, flat conditions and fighting right to the finish, missing the world title by just 4 seconds! Congrats to Cory and Jemma on the win👏🏼🔥

A special shoutout to my dad, who did an incredible job as national team manager despite a serious cycling accident the week before. So grateful he could still be there to support me and the team🇿🇦❤️

The day has finally arrived… 🇪🇸

Tomorrow, the 2026 Surfski World Championships begin, marking the start of a new chapter for me as I take on my first year racing in the Open category✊🏼

I’m excited for the challenge and to see where I can stack up against some of the best in the world. I’m going into this race with no expectations other than to have fun, give it everything I’ve got, and race the best race I can💪🏼
