Sometimes I look at my life and all I can see are the things that went wrong.

Then I remember how many times I had to start over.

And how many times I did.

If you’re in a difficult chapter right now, keep going. The story isn’t over yet. ❤️

What’s the most beautiful book on your bookshelf? 🌿📚

Happy Victober, everyone! 🍂👑

If you haven’t heard of it, Victober is an annual month-long readathon celebrating British and Irish Victorian literature written or published between 1837 and 1901, during Queen Victoria’s reign. And what better excuse to revisit the wonderfully atmospheric worlds of the Brontë sisters?

October feels like the perfect time to share one of the most stunning books on my shelves: A Brontë Botany by @abrontebotany. 🌿

A book that combines two of my favourite things: the books and plants. What could be more magical?

Exploring the classics through the botanicals of the Victorian era, this beautiful book brings a whole new layer of meaning to the natural world woven throughout the Brontë stories. From the wild, windswept landscapes that feel so inseparable from their novels to the flowers and plants that carry their own symbolism, it’s a wonderful way to look at these beloved stories through a different lens.

And a little fun fact: Jane Eyre is one of the books that inspired my upcoming release, The Single Father. Swap a governess for a live-in nanny and the brooding Mr Rochester for well… the single father, Edward 👀

The illustrations throughout A Brontë Botany are by the ever-so-talented @betweenstarsandsoil, and they make this book even more enchanting. It feels like something you could spend an autumn afternoon getting lost in, with a cup of tea beside you and the wind rattling at the windows.

Published by @riverside.press on 15 October. 🍂
If you love the Brontës, beautiful books, botanical illustrations or just want to romanticise your reading life this autumn, this one deserves a place on your shelves.

Now tell me… what’s your favourite Brontë novel? Jane Eyre? Wuthering Heights? I want to know! 🥀

📚The Single Father
✍️by Jade Lee Wright
🗓️Pub Date: 22 Oct 2026

An absolute page turner! I devoured this in one sitting. It’s one of those popcorn thrillers where some of the decisions certain characters make are a little questionable, but if you suspend your disbelief, you’re in for a wild, wild ride.

Tiily, a grieving young woman takes a live-in nanny job with a single father and his two children at a remote farmhouse in the Peak District, hoping for a fresh start. Then the snow arrives, the roads close and the internet goes down, and she wakes with an injury and no memory of what happened. Edward insists she has been living there for months, and everyone around her seems to agree, as does the evidence in the family photos, featuring her, but she knows who she is. The fast pace had me hooked straight away, and I couldn’t stop reading until I found out what was really going on.

And then the twist at the end? Superb!

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, @jadeleewrightauthor and @joffebooks for an ARC of this book. by @jadeleewrightauthor

Other writers vs me 😂✍️

I fear I may not have been blessed with the ✨aesthetic author life✨

Some writers have beautiful desks, matching stationery, perfect hair, candles, fresh coffee and a 3,000-word day.

I have a bun, an oversized hoodie, cold coffee, 47 tabs open and absolutely no idea what I’m doing.

But we all get there eventually. 😂

Tag the writer who needs to see this 👇

Or send it to them. You know who they are. 😂
