Full circle moment. Winning High Jump as a Freshman to winning again as a Senior. Transferring for my last year scared out my mind, wondering if I was making the right decision. Sometimes you got to take chances and look what it got me. I said it a million times and would say it a million more, this season has been the best season/ year I ever had and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I can’t express enough what this win has done for me internally, but I am more than thankful, elated, blessed, and all the above to be able to experience this. Setting a goal as soon as I got here to touch the podium in both indoor and outdoor and making it happen has been surreal for me. Aye Yo Trojans, thank yall for being my teammates and turning me up!! I will miss yall the most as for you all have shown me what it’s like to be a true Trojan and to compete with a Winner’s mindset. My collegiate athlete experience has improved from just being around yall and for that I am so grateful. I will cherish the relationships we built and wish yall the best in the future. To @coach_willkendall , thank you for seeing my potential and helping me grow. I really appreciate what you have done for me and showed me a different perspective on alot of things. Thank you for being my coach. @coachbehnke_ualr and @dboy.stay.fit thank yall for giving me the opportunity to be a Trojan. Getting to know you two on my visit and hearing that yall knew I could do some great things here helped me see that becoming a Trojan was the best thing to do. Coach @starlyta, Thank you for being patient with me and introducing me to more than just high jump. This journey would not have been possible without you and I appreciate you so much. One more Hooray! as I close out this chapter of greatness and gratitude. My fellow skyhawks, from training with yall to competing with a few and against, im proud of yall and thank yall for being my teammate the first 3 years to being a friend of a sort in the last. To my crew, congrats on our last season and to the younger ones, live in the present and trust the process. #tracknfield #senior #ovc #explore #highjump by @jaderrika

And just like that, my time as an assistant volleyball coach has come to an end (for now🌝). 🙂‍↕️ Coming back to my hometown and getting the opportunity to coach has been an experience I’ll always be grateful for. I came into this internship knowing I had a lot to learn, but I never expected these girls to teach me just as much as I hoped to teach them. This season was about so much more than volleyball. I built some relationships, learned how to be more patient , got hit with different personalities, had difficult conversations, and realized that sometimes the smallest things you do can make the biggest difference in someone else’s life. To the girls, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. Thank you for the laughs, the conversations, the frustrating moments, and the memories. I hope that somewhere along the way, I was able to leave you with something that goes beyond the volleyball court. Whether it was a lesson, a word of encouragement, or simply knowing that someone believed in you. I started this experience not knowing what I was getting into and now I’m leaving with a better understanding of what it means to lead, listen, and show up for others. The season may be over, but the impact these girls have had on me will last forever. 💜🏐 by @jaderrika
