I’ve seen love all around me this summer 🫶

Serving as an Orientation and Baylor Line Camp leader has been the best summer of my life. It was filled with so much joy and laughter, and I saw God moving through it all.

To the Maddy’s sons, the mad dawgs (let me hear you bark), the Maddy’s moggers, the madiSONION rings, and Team Jadison, thank you. Thank you for bearing with me when I got lost and when I didn’t know what questions to ask. Thank you for laughing with me, but also locking in when it was time. Thank you for accepting my answer that celebration was us celebrating. Thank you for leaning in to all the silly traditions of line camp. But most of all, thank you for being apart of my summer.

We all came from different places, and some day we will all go our separate ways. But I’m so grateful our paths crossed and that I got to be a small part of your Baylor story.

3 years ago, I watched my Slovenian king in the NBA playoffs. The Mavs lost in the western conference finals, but they won a new fan. If you know me, you know I was the biggest Mavs fan. I watched every game, and I was always wearing Mavs merch.

Some of my favorite memories with my friends were at Mavs games. I remember the game against OKC where Luka was going crazy. My friend, Larue, who didn’t care about basketball, was getting so excited every time Luka scored. We bonded over our shared love of Luka.

I’ll always remember the day I found out. My mother woke me up from my slumber and broke the news. I thought it was a joke. I couldn’t comprehend it. The nexts days were sad, I would never see Luka in a Mavs jersey again. Who would have thought that Christmas would be the last time he’d play as a Maverick?

The first thing I saw when I woke up every morning was Luka’s beautiful face. I have a poster of him hanging up across my bed. It’s still there, but now it’s bittersweet.

Luka made me a basketball fan. I’ll always be a Mavs fan, but it will never be the same. Thank you Luka 💕💔🥀 by @jadisonmenkins

A little late but better than never!

I’m so thankful for the opportunity to spend a whole week with my fellow seniors! DC was so cool. It was an honor to see where the 2009 film “The Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” took place, which I of course made Benjamin watch with me on the flight back from NY. Also shout out to the ducks frfr by @jadisonmenkins
