Why does The Giver 7 honor National Black Girl Day Off on October 10 when the official day is October 11?

Because we're serious about the day off part.

Our intention is simple: pour into women beforehand so October 11 can remain open for whatever genuine rest looks like to her.

Sleep late. Turn off the phone. Sit outside.

Create. Laugh. Do absolutely nothing.

National Black Girl Day Off is observed each year on October 11 as an intentional invitation for Black women to pause, rest and prioritize their well-being.

For women who spend so much time caring, leading, giving, supporting and carrying, rest deserves to be more than what is left over at the end of the day.

Over the next several weeks, we'll be sharing more about why The Giver 7 honors National Black Girl Day Off and how Choose H.E.R. — Honor. Empower. Restore. reflects our commitment to Black women's wellness.
