It's been a while since my last post. It's harder to post frequently because of how busy college is, but now that it's summer, I intend to have more of an online presence. To my online community, thank you for your patience with me throughout this crazy year!

On that note, this was quite a crazy semester too (both in good and...other ways), but I really appreciate that I was able to learn and grow from it. I got to try out so many new modes of making things and discovered which ways felt most authentic to me (versus which did not). I feel simultaneously proud and embarrassed about what I've made for school, but that just means that I'm exploring out of my comfort zone which is a good thing. I had fun in EFS (my school's first-year program), but I am BEYOND THRILLED to move on to my major. 😆

AMERICANS: If possible, join your local deportation defense network. This is a good way to be there to protect members of your community when kidnappings are happening. Additionally, stay on alert about ICE raids. Inform your neighbors of their rights. Stay involved.

The collaged text on screen is from various news sources (CBS, ACLU, The Guardian, NYT, and local news networks). The artwork was made on Procreate and is 11 x 17 inches.

The poster is free to download here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/tn3rtsz33r15ympouw6m6/Abolish_ICE_Poster.pdf?rlkey=ibl4pcu9bb77ag1ssdptha8jn&st=ugv8nu4l&dl=0

2025 was one of those years where by the end of it, I didn’t wonder how time had flied. I think a lot of us can agree that it has been one long year, both full of grieving and gratitude.

One of the things I am most grateful for in 2025 is having the privilege to study art in university. I thought it would be fitting to start off the new year with a compilation of some of my most experimental works during my fall semester. I find these to be the works I’m most proud of even though they were the most foreign to me in style, technique, and medium.

Me having this privilege is thanks to you all — friends and people who have supported me through commissions. The one thing I am more grateful for than the opportunity to attend my dream school is the love I was fortunate to be surrounded by over the summer. It truly was a period where I didn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I’ve been reconsidering my purpose as an artist lately and the impact that my art has on people. Fundamentally, I want people to feel represented by my art — whether it is their aesthetic tastes, personal histories, or their interests. Moreover, I want to represent our surroundings, as that is a big part of what shapes us on the inside. Doing emergency commissions, despite the tragic circumstance, did bring me joy in that I was able to more directly observe what my art meant/could do for others.

My commissions will still be open, although I am so lucky to be in a better place now. Thank you, from both me and my mom. Happy New Year and always remember the value of sticking up for your community!

#smallartists #realartists #artstudents The layout of these images was done in my free time. The images themselves are of my final project for my spatial dynamics class, which involved light experimentation. please DM me for more details if interested in ordering and send my mom well wishes and prayers. I’m very new to paid commissions but I will do my absolute best to keep up. estimated completion time of a piece is maximum 1 week. there is no limit to the number of commission slots.
the art shown is done on my iPad (2017 model) on Procreate. any kind of support helps and is deeply appreciated, even if it’s not a financial contribution. take care of your loved ones and drive safely.

WHOA!!!!! Yoonjae uploading in…forever?? hi I’ve kind of been unsure about what direction to go with my art but in general I think I want to draw landscapes and characters that look like people I see IRL. these pieces were done at various points of time between May and July. enjoyyy and I swear I’m working on that one YouTube video for @projectnaerris trust

fun process explanation for each image 👇
slide 1: landscape study from a photo I took while hiking. I was stuck on this piece for a week until I kind of hit a breakthrough by exaggerating some colors which ironically brought out the emotions of the scene better if you know what I mean. my most recent artwork <3 I thought about adding people but I think it looks better without any
slides 2-6: sketchbook observational stuff I did in Korea. the book was a free thing I got from an accepted college students day orientation and I think it’s made of recycled paper which rocks. it still smells like my grandparents’ house
slides 7-8: sort of old concept of an OC of mine (a figure in Ubralian mythology, oooooh). depiction of a myth where her corpse emits gold and provides wealth for the people in Ubral. I like the sketch better and I think I might actually paint over the rendered version because I improved a LOT since May (I think) (I hope) in terms of capturing texture with digital brushstrokes. I’ve always been iffy about continuing old artworks but now I’m slowly realizing that not everything has to be completed in one sitting
slides 9-10: scenes from a small Bruce Banner related animatic I’m not sure I’ll finish but it’s fun to work on as a hand warm up
slide 11: chibi I drew while possessed by a nefarious spirit. it’s that one iteration of bruce banner from the early 2000s “earth’s mightiest heroes”. I think he’s pretty neat

that’s all guys. ummm make sure to stay aware of what’s going on around you 👍 you’re just as much a part of this world as the rest of us are.

Sometimes you just need a day before the final product looks okay. Here is some more concept art for #projectnaerris, featuring:
-> Ora’s Palace: Where the royal family of the Ubralic Realm lived.
-> Uleonist deities: Uleonism’s (Ubral’s dominant religion post-Phoeqogean invasion) leading god-like figures.
-> Studies and drafting process for creating the Uleonist deities!
All of these belong to my AP 2-D art portfolio.

Politics is going downhill, but at least I can crank out concept sheets for Project Naerris where everything is 700% better (it’s not). I swear I’ll upload the video on Ubral soon… #visdevelopment #visdev #apart #portfolio #conceptartist #conceptart #conceptartwork #conceptsheet #digitalart #digitalartist #procreate #projectnaerris by @jaetassium
