🐝 Still buzzing 🐝 after talking to media leaders about managing up, down, and sideways at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ)'s convention @nabjlaofficial in Atlanta. #NABJ26

The session had two powerful ingredients. Brilliant co-panelists: Kennan C. Oliphant VP of News at CBS News Detroit, @chandrarwrites co-host and producer at Colorado Public Radio and Charity Scott managing editor at @mlk50memphis: Justice Through Journalism, and @marlanewman57 VP of People & Culture at The Center for Investigative Reporting.

Second, there were a ton of practical tips and gems 💎

We talked about:

🤝🏽 How to build relationships that don’t feel transactional
💼 How to communicate ideas that resonate with the C-Level
✅ Documenting wins
☀️ Being likable while staying authentic
📈 Key financial numbers
And a lot more!

What a thrill to talk about managing nonprofits with an all-star panel of executives at the NAHJ (National Association of Hispanic Journalists) @officialnahj convention in New Orleans.

Such an honor to join the brilliant @penileyramirez, co-CEO of Futuro Media Group, Luisa Ortiz Pérez, who's co-founder and CEO of @vitaactivaorg and lead of @mdrnetorg, and the great Antonieta Cadiz, executive director at Climate Power En Acción.

We talked about:

💡How to manage teams

When women, queer people, Black professionals, and first-generation professionals struggle with imposter syndrome, we’re often told the problem is a lack of confidence.

But what if it’s a reasonable response to navigating environments where you’ve had to work twice as hard to be seen, where your experiences haven’t been reflected, or where you’ve learned that belonging can feel conditional?
