Thanks to Chair @nancyhtung for appointing me as an associate member of @sfdemocrats and @joesangirardi @carrieelisebarnes and @bobakkabob37 for pulling me into the SF Dems Gala Host Committee. The event was a great success, raising money to help Dems take back the house and put the breaks on the current administration. I loved getting to host the mighty @unitedadministratorssf leadership, SFUSD parent leaders from diverse schools across our city, and my endorsed candidates for school board @timtungsf and @autumnforschoolboard (@philkimsf had his own seat 😜). It was my pleasure to get to introduce and honor my former boss @davidchiu.sf for his work as a defender of democracy. The work never stops! šŸ’ŖšŸ¼ by @jaimehuling

Last week I had the honor of graduating the fantastic class of 2026 from Hilltop High School. This unique school supports high school students who are pregnant and parenting. The moving graduation ceremony acknowledged the support these young mothers received from their families to get them to graduation, incorporated their beautiful babies, and centered the graduates’ goals, excellence, and determination. These smart, hardworking scholars all received scholarships—they represent the best of San Francisco and we are so proud of them and all of our 2026 graduates!

I hope all of our @sfunified community enjoyed a glorious first day of summer break today! ā˜€ļø by @jaimehuling

Tonight, we hosted a community education town hall with the Westside Family Democratic Club about the future of San Francisco public education.

Thank you to San Francisco Board of Education Vice President Jaime Huling and Commissioner Parag Gupta for joining the conversation and engaging on important topics including school assignment, neighborhood access, language immersion, academic opportunities, district sustainability, and what it will take to strengthen confidence in our public schools.

San Francisco families deserve to be part of these conversations, not informed after the fact.

As a former member of the City College Board, policy director at Children’s Council of San Francisco, and now Supervisor representing one of the city’s highest concentrations of public school families, I know how deeply education decisions shape children, families, and neighborhoods.

While school governance decisions sit with the district, my job is to make sure District 4 families are heard, represented, and connected to the conversations shaping their children’s future.

Grateful to the Westside Family Democratic Club for partnering on this conversation, and thank you to every parent, family, and community member who took the time to join us, ask thoughtful questions, and share your perspectives.

Tonight’s conversation was an important step, and my office will continue making sure District 4 families’ voices are part of the conversations shaping the future of our public schools. by @jaimehuling

Our public schools are at the heart of our neighborhoods, and SFUSD’s decisions will have a major impact on Westside families.

For too long, the school assignment system has been confusing, stressful, and frustrating. Families deserve a fair, transparent process that gives them more certainty and better access to neighborhood schools.

Join us tomorrow for the District 4 Education Town Hall to share your concerns and help shape the future of SFUSD.

Space may be limited — RSVP in advance. Link in bio. by @jaimehuling

This post is a little uncomfortable for me, but I want to share something more personal. I grew up deeply Catholic, but later left the church over its unequal treatment of women and the LGBTQ community, and perpetuation of abuse against children. Still, my values are shaped by my Catholic upbringing, and I’ve been following with pride the Pope’s outspokenness against the atrocities our Country is committing against our fellow man at home and abroad. It’s bringing out the Catholic in me, I suppose.

Catholics don’t really preach our values, we strive to live them through service. Having a servant’s heart and sharing whatever gifts you have been given with others are fundamental imperatives. And so, I’m reflecting on two years ago, when I took a leave from work to go down to City Hall and pull papers to run for School Board, and the next day donated a kidney to my former colleague and fellow lawyer mom. Now, I’m honored to be able to serve SFUSD on the school board, and heartened that, with so much unnecessary death and suffering in the world, I was able to play a small part in preventing one more family from losing their mom.

That season of life was challenging, but I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to give an enthusiastic yes when I was asked to give of myself. It is deeply engrained in me that we are supposed to be humble and not brag about our good works. But in these dark times, it is a blessing to have the chance to honor the inherent dignity we all share. Thank you for sharing your need, Diana, I am so happy to celebrate your renewed health! ā¤ļø by @jaimehuling
