I learned how to sing the Hokey Pokey in Español 🕺

This past week I had the opportunity to go on a life changing trip to the Dominican Republic. With a mix of having no phones, having to take bucket showers, having to squat and bucket flush when going to the bathroom, sleeping on air mattresses in mosquito nets in a school, building a court, playing with the local kids, attempting to speak really bad Spanish, playing games and having fun conversations on long bus rides, having Bible studies, watching basketball games, playing basketball games, coaching a basketball clinic, learning how to dance, being at the beach in the sun, being at the beach in the pouring rain, going to church, celebrating the court we built, playing against locals in the pouring rain, and just spending time together in the airport, this truly was the best week of my life.

Even though I wasn’t allowed to play, this trip really showed me that there is so much more to life than playing basketball. The connections made and built on this trip was something I’ve never seen before. This trip was so amazing but it made it so much harder to leave all these people behind. I am beyond blessed that God has given me people in my life that make it hard to leave behind.

Thank you @courtsforkids for this opportunity taken in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic by @jake.bishop2
