“Wolf Song” - 2026 - 150x200x6cms.

It’s difficult to put into words the week I had at @palaciodecantalobos - surrounded by the best people, some of my best friends and such incredible scenery. A magical hill in the Andalusian mountains on Costa Tropical in Spain and the ultimate inspiration for creating something entirely new.

First of all, a huge thank you to the wonderful family who have built this all from scratch, Jonas, Harriet and Ida you have truly created somewhere special. Somewhere unlike I’ve ever been before, and didn’t really know could exist. Thank you for welcoming me in, for supporting the mad ideas and for making me feel part of the team 🩵

But speaking of mad ideas, this giant painting inspired by the surroundings and noise of the wind hitting the palace (where the name comes from) is just the beginning. For years, my chaos twin bestie @dulce_de_lena and I have been planning a project that intertwines both of our crafts - hers being exquisite cooking and dining experiences, but we could never quite pin down how we would do this. It started as a menu, synaesthetically inspired by sound, but has since grown into something much larger. Namely, using this painting as a blueprint to then create a menu consisting of 9 dishes, each inspired by the colours, textures, and movement on canvas. All of this, while being immersed in a projection and sound installation BUILT from the textures and movement in the painting. This will take place on site at Cantalobos, utilising different areas for different courses and flooding the participants in a multi-sensory environment which flows and changes as the palettes do. There is much more to this, but for now I don’t want to reveal everything.

This is a bookable experience for both solo explorers and groups, so please drop me a message to find out more.

But for now, please enjoy me being totally overwhelmed by such an incredible place and people, thank you all again and I’ll be back soon (if you’ll have me) 🩵

There’s much more footage to come, and 2 more recital and performance evenings next week but for now, go and check out all the incredible work on display! ✨ What happens when community and creativity come together?

Last week, An Evening of Expression brought football, art and music together at John Lewis Norwich, and these photographs capture just a little of the magic. 🎨⚽🎹

Alongside @jakeandrewart the young people from Morley Youth FC U14s swapped the pitch for paintbrushes, experimenting with colour, creating their own pieces and showing us that self-expression can take so many different forms.

From Jasmine’s beautiful live piano performance and Jake painting in response to the music, to a room full of young people confidently creating alongside him, it was an evening filled with energy, individuality and community. 💚

A huge thank you to Jake, @morley_u14 Jasmine, @dalerrowney1783 and everyone who helped make the evening possible, and, most importantly, to all the brilliant young people who threw themselves into the experience.

And a very special thank you to @norfolk_food_photography for capturing the evening so beautifully. 📸

The story doesn’t end there…

✨ The artwork created on the night is now on display in Benugo Café, Floor 1 at John Lewis Norwich. We’d love you to come in, take a closer look and see what happens when creativity is given the space to grow.

I’ve had it in my head I wanted to rework this painting for a while, some of the textures and movements seemed too “thin” - not enough depth. That’s sometimes something that’s lost with my work when sharing it online, I really like people getting up close and personal to see all the tiny details. I think she’s finished now, and with a new title for her new form. “The Last Thing You Forget” 2026. Can’t wait for the @noplaceart opening in London on Thursday night, catch me live painting to some incredible piano playing again ❤️

✨ What happens when you bring community and creativity together? 🎨⚽🎹

Something pretty special!

Our An Evening of Expression brought together Morley Youth FC U14s, local art, live music and our Norwich community for an evening all about creativity, confidence and finding your own way to express yourself.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to Jake Andrew and John for helping bring the vision for the evening to life. 💚

And a very special thank you to all of the brilliant young people who took part. From picking up a paintbrush and creating alongside Jake to sharing their own stories and ideas. Particular thanks to Jasmine, whose incredible live piano performance provided the soundtrack as Jake created an original artwork right in front of us. 🎹🎨

Finally, thank you to @dalerrowney1783 for generously sponsoring the evening and providing the canvases that helped make all that creativity possible.

A night of football, art, music and community at John Lewis Norwich…and one we won’t forget in a hurry. ✨

Absolutely crazy day installing my latest exhibition, back at @johnlewis_norwich and open from tomorrow. Truly can’t say thank you enough to @jack.r.baxter for all your help, for dealing with my chaos and shout laughing our way through battling the elements and actually getting this painting out of my studio (we had 1mm spare on the doors and spiral staircase) - The event night is the 10th September and I’ll put a link in my bio but it’s going to be something very different and special! For now, here’s “Overdrive” out in the wild for the first time 🩵 There’s a new series of work on display, and also “Nobody, Not Even The Rain” on the big screen 🙏🏽

MATERIALITY LIVE: NIGHT TWO
Ticket Link in Bio

What happens when sound becomes colour?

On Wednesday 23 September, Materiality Live: Night Two brings together three distinctive creative voices for an intimate evening of live music and painting, unfolding amongst the artworks of No Place Art | Materiality.

Contemporary-classical pianist and composer Karim Kamar and composer, pianist and operatic tenor Camden Stewart will perform live as multidisciplinary Artist in Residence Jake Andrew responds to their music in real time.

Through synaesthesia, Jake experiences sound as colour, texture and form. As Karim and Camden perform, he will translate those sensations directly onto canvas, creating an entirely new painting before the audience.

Karim will perform works from a new and currently unreleased collection of original waltzes, offering an early glimpse into a developing body of work filled with intimacy, movement and cinematic atmosphere.

Camden will perform original compositions from his EP Lost and album Transcendence, moving between contemporary classical piano and expressive tenor vocals through works exploring reflection, stillness and transformation.

Two musicians. Two distinct musical languages. One canvas.

No predetermined outcome. No finished painting waiting to be revealed.

Just music, voice, colour and movement responding to one another in real time, creating something that can only exist because of that moment.

Wednesday 23 September 2026
18:00–21:00
The Handbag Factory | Vauxhall, London

Tickets available via the link in our bio. taken in The Handbag Factory by @jakeandrewart

& Markson Pianos PRESENT | MATERIALITY LIVE: NIGHT ONE
Ticket Link in Bio

What does music look like?

On Tuesday 22 September, we bring together three distinct creative voices for the first night of Materiality Live, an intimate collision of live music and painting set amongst the artworks of No Place Art | Materiality, with pianos supplied by Markson Pianos.

Composer and pianist Teodor Doré and pianist and songwriter Jay Verma will perform live as multidisciplinary Artist in Residence Jake Andrew responds to their music in real time.

Through synaesthesia, Jake experiences sound as colour, texture and form. As Teodor and Jay perform, he will translate what he hears and feels directly onto canvas, creating an entirely new painting before the audience.

Teodor will perform works from Les Reflets dorés, moving between Renaissance polyphony, Impressionism and a new contemporary musical language. Jay will perform unreleased material alongside works from his Seasons project, bringing together his distinctive influences across jazz, folk and film music.

Artists:
Teodor Doré | Jay Verma | Jake Andrew
@teodordore | @jay.verma | @jakeandrewart

Two musicians. Two musical worlds. One canvas.

No rehearsed visual outcome. No finished artwork waiting to be revealed.

Just sound becoming colour, music becoming material, and a painting taking shape in the same moment you experience the performance.

Tuesday 22 September 2026
18:00–21:00
The Handbag Factory | Vauxhall, London
