It has been such a blast working with artists all over the nation to create this year's BCDF. This festival holds a special place in my heart as it was the first show I produced 3 years ago at Texas A&M!! It is always a lovely time seeing familiar faces and getting to know new ones in the dance community!

Here's to a great festival this year kicking off my 4th season with Texas A&M!!

Come see the show tonight at 7pm at the Rudder Theatre!! by @jam_martinez_

These students went from knowing nothing about production to:

✅ Creating their own lighting plot and magic sheet
✅ Creating their own poster design
✅ Editing their own music
✅ Sewing their own costume designs
✅ Custom mapping a projector in QLab
✅Running two successful shows

And much more! My heart is so full and I am so proud!

This year I celebrated my 10-year anniversary with ACDA!! I have enjoyed every step of the journey from dancer, to choreographer, to stage hand, and to technical director! Thank you so much ACDA for having me from 2014-2024!

Huge thanks to Utah Valley University for showing me the ropes, Sam Houston State University for giving me the toolbox, Texas A&M for promoting and endorsing me, and University of Texas for inviting me!

Kearns High School class of 2013, 10 year reunion!

Currently wearing my 2013 dance company jacket, underneath is my Texas A&M apparel. What a crazy 10 years this has been, an amazing excursion, and a beautiful journey with illustrious artists all across the U.S.

As I sit back and reminisce on the past decade I can't help but feel blessed from where I come from, who I have had the opportunity to cross paths with, and where I am headed ❤️

Shout out to Kearns High School class of 2013, may you keep dreaming and leaving a legacy!

We are the cougars!

Love,

Jam Martinez

Why do humans gather?
How do you build a community?
What happens when the community is broken?
How do you find a community you thrive in?

It was questions like these that led my thesis research and influenced my creative process, ultimately becoming my film, 'Kinesthetic Gathering'. Premiering this Friday at 8pm, SHSU GPAC by @jam_martinez_

I am so excited to premiere my thesis dance film 'Kinesthetic Gathering' this Friday and Saturday at Sam Houston State University!

Many people put in a ton of work to make this film possible and I am so honored to be surrounded by such a great community that saw my vision and helped to make it successful!

This weekend's performance will also feature my amazing friend and colleague's work, @lilly_rae!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along this journey and to my amazing cast, crew, and mentors for helping me produce this work of art! taken in Sam Houston State University by @jam_martinez_
