“That’s how it is on this b*tch of an earth” ~ “Waiting For Godot,” Samuel Beckett 🎭

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hi everyone! Posting this on main! 💞🎃 On Monday, my theatre company, @tier5theatrecompany, kicked off our third annual horror-inspired new play series, SPOOKYF3ST. It’s been a TREAT each year to get to present these new works- but the TRICK of it all is that putting on the plays costs a bit of money.

This year the goal is to raise $2,500 by November 1st to cover the entire cost of SpookyF3st. Most of that money goes to making sure our artists receive a stipend for their work!

This year we’re doing something special, and my mom @lulu4two, has pledged to 💞double💞 match the money we raise. One match will go to Tier5 and the other match will go to a Breast Cancer Awareness charity of her choosing. Join us in raising money for both new, indie theatre AND the fight against breast cancer. Both of these causes are deeply personal to my mom and me right now, so any little bit counts.

Visit the link in my ig bio or go to Tier5TheatreCompany.com to make a tax deductible contribution! Any amount! Remember, a $5 becomes a $10 to Tier5 AND THEN an additional $5 to Breast Cancer awareness and research! Yeah

Thank you everyone who has donated so far, and if you can’t donate, please help spread the word or follow Tier5 or come see a SpookyF3st show this season!! by @james_cougar

Directing Pride & Prejudice with @tier5theatrecompany and this incredible group of artists, putting it all together in just one week of rehearsals, selling out both shows, and having the audiences respond so ferociously with love, laughter, and joy…. It will live in my heart always.

Thank you Jane Austen for writing this story. Thank you Mary Keith Medbery McKaye for adaptating it. Thank you @elbarriosartspace for giving Tier5 a home.

Thank you @corbinthepanda for capturing these stunning images, including the ones of me feeling insurmountable joy while directing this piece.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. taken in El Barrio’s Artspace PS109 by @james_cougar

Very excited, nervous, thrilled to be heading to Vermont this summer to be a part of Shakespeare in the Woods summer rep. I’ll be taking on Falstaff in MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR and Gloucester in LEAR.

Posting the @tier5theatrecompany fundraiser asset on my personal account cuz 1) I spent a long time making this infographic and it deserves to be seen 3) I want to appeal to you: my friends, family, and colleagues to consider supporting my theatre company and assisting me with creating art & community.

As prices continue to rise, funding becomes even more limited, and outlets that once were able to provide support dry up; indie theatre simply cannot survive on ticket sales alone. To keep making this happen, I am asking you to consider making a tax deductible donation to help secure that Tier5 continues to be a force of new, exciting, and accessible art.

At the risk of sounding dire, the company simply cannot continue without the community support.

So, if you can: make a contribution or buy a ticket to our upcoming production of Pride & Prejudice. I’d love to see you there.

Fundraiser link in my IG bio & at Tier5TheatreCompany.com

Thank you everyone for your continued support, love, and kindness. It’s been 10 years of making Tier5 happen and have loved having you a part of this journey so far. Let’s kick off the next ten years right ❤️ by @james_cougar

But oh! if we call the whole thing off then we must part and oh! if we ever part then that might break my heart ❤️💔

Another wonderful “work trip” to Flagstaff to collaborate with the incredible artists of Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival.

Matthew Windham wrote a silly, endearing, and accessible take of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing with BEA & BENNY: LET’S CALL THE WHOLE THING OFF! and I was so lucky to get to direct it (Matthew also wrote EMMA that I directed last December). Designed as Theatre for Aged Audiences, this production will tour around Northern Arizona this summer, visiting different senior living centers and communities. Because theatre should be accessible to EVERYONE, from all walks of life, and all ages.

Two weeks of getting to work with Matthew and Becki, two of my all time legendary artistic collaborators, was such a gift. I can’t wait to hear how Bea & Benny continue to grow and bring joy to these audiences. My heart is full.

And I got the chance to see so many of my Flagstaff friends in action from EVERY BRILLIANT THING to LIFE SUCKS… it’s been such a lovely little visit.

While I’m excited to get back to NYC, I always leave a little piece of my heart on this mountain. I’ll be back soon, I’m sure 🥰🗻 by @james_cougar
