Last year designer Christine Elliot used multiple James Crossing wallpapers in her client’s renovation. I may have some of the colours wrong but these are some of the fun patterns she chose. Christine’s advice on this ‘Wisdom Wednesday’ is:

“Trends fade so stay true to what you love. If blue is your favourite colour, don’t worry that every kitchen right now is a muddy green. Your love for blue will outlast the trend. Pair that with timeless finishes and materials that have proven staying power, and your home will continue to feel relevant long after the trend moves on.“

Look up! Toula from @ancanthus_interiors shares this nugget of advice for our Wednesday's wisdom.

"Do you like to surround yourself in soothing neutrals? Great, but add some unexpected pizzazz like a patterned ceiling in the same colour palette. Choosing beautiful wallpaper for that '5th wall' will take your room from bland to breathtaking!"

This Maker's Monday the creatives behind House of Amitié share their favourite patterns.

Jemma's favourite pattern is 'Whirl Dalloway' which she has used on a lampshade in her own home. Angela's favourite is the Serpentine patterns which she has framed as artwork in her lounge.

A solid piece of wisdom from @lauragristinteriordesign

"Choose your wallpaper first.... There are a million paint colours that you can match to and there are hundreds of fabric choices. But there is only one wallpaper that will blow your mind and you have got to find that first. The rest will fall into place!"

Such a simple piece of advice but so true and often forgotten! Take this one to heart! And if you aren't doing wallpaper, my own advice would be to choose the fabric first!

This week's Maker's Monday features Dami and Em Design, one of our newest artists at James Crossing.

Dami says, "It’s difficult to choose favourites, but if we had to, we currently have Wisteria Rainfalls Blue in our bedroom and Eden Garden Mandarin in our living room, and we absolutely love living with them every day."

Her husband Emil on the other hand has a different favourite: Lace Wallpaper in Rose Indian Tea.
