“Nothing changes if nothing changes” 💙

Firstly, sorry - I know there’s probably a lot more of me here than you all asked for 🙈😅 but it feels like a moment to show off the hard work as I hit 1,000 days sober today ✨🤯 and have just passed two years of sticking with my F45 training 🙏🏻💪🏻

Pulling all of these comparisons together, it goes wayyyyy deeper than what you can see on the outside. These last two years have been a complete transformation for me - physically, mentally and emotionally.

It’s crazy looking back at a time when I assumed I was happy, and thought I had both feet firmly planted on the ground. Looking at the pictures on the left now, I can honestly see someone who was lost, stuck, insecure, complacent and hopeless.

When life comes along and drops a grenade on you, you can take it one of two ways. I’m proud to look at all of these pictures and feel grateful that I chose a path that made me work on myself to become a better person, not only for me, but for the people around me too.

This is way more than just looking “fit”. This progress, and the path I’m currently on as a sober guy approaching 40 next year, looks so different from where I was two years ago.

I’ve been able to embrace pain, sorrow and emotional self-harm and turn it into something that actually benefits me in so many ways and giving myself a healthy focus and a meaningful purpose. And I think that, in itself, is one small example of how we can learn to be kinder to ourselves.

So, as I hit these two big milestones, and approach almost three years sober later this year (‼️), remember that big change can start with the smallest step.

Don’t be afraid of where that first step could lead you. 💙💙💙
