The non-human creatures have spoken 🗯️

We would like normal temperatures back 🔆🫠, we don't like being surrounded by chemicals ☣️ and we want clean water in our rivers and seas 🚱

Their words will be taken to the This is the North convention 2026 in Scarborough 👀

Thank you to all the beings who attended the workshop, Wild Roots Community Garden, the Whoseburn Project by Building Culture, People's Powerhouse, the Arts Council and the National Lottery Community Fund.

🌿 More than Human: Ouseburn Multispecies Futures

🗓️ 5th September at 2-4pm
📍Wild Roots Community Garden in Ouseburn
Free but booking required - link in bio
Suitable for all ages

Join the artist James Stephen Wright at the Wild Roots Community Garden for an exciting dive into the world of multispecies futures and create a digital artwork to be displayed at the This is the North Convention in Scarborough!

Inspired by the community garden, we will make masks of the different creatures that could inhabit the Ouseburn and imagine what they need to keep their community going. Embodying the non-human creatures, we will collectively do a masked performance, which will be transformed digitally by interacting live with local climate data ☀️🌱

With thanks to the People's Powerhouse, supported by the Arts Council & the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Building Culture.
