Heard a blow up behind me, casted towards but far from it burned a @lubowskilures Big Heavy XL as fast as i could and before i hope for the hit i got hit.

Caught a 53" beast on my special day #4thjuly fishing in #northernontario with @jamesstevenson31 on the mighty French River in @sunset_country region was pure magic. After casting blades, glides, etc. on my @fish_shimano_north_america tranx400 paired with @stcroixrods i decided to jig a @bondybaitcompany outside the weed bed before i could even let the bait sink this monster had it! Maybe she was hanging out under the boat all this time 🤔
Or she was interested in @yamahamotorcanada F70 😂 taken in French River Provincial Park by @jamesstevenson31

Caught my first #esoxmasquinongy aka #musky aka #muskyllunge aka #cabbagedragon on the #canadianshield back in 2022 and it sparked a lifelong passion for these ancient predators that lurk in northern canadian waters by @jamesstevenson31

Fishing 50 - 2025 Day 32/50
Day 2 of our French River Trip (in Sept - yes we are still behind) and we were heading out with French River Guide @jamesstevenson31 and a pontoon rental from @wolseleylodge - we had fished either James last year and it is always great to spend some time with local guides to learn the water system and fish behavior. James worked hard to get us on fish, find new fish, and teach us what and how he was doing it. Highly recommend James as a guide if you are ever interested in fishing the French. We perfected the drop shot fishing technique for walleye and then gave jig and a worm a run for it. It was lights out fishing, laughing and deepened friendships. These days are always too short but we were left with some confidence to fish this amazing fishery on our own. The weather was less than cooperative but the company made up for it. We have been doing fishing trips with the boys now for a number of years. We often tell stories of previous years catches, adventures and the ones that got away. It is awesome to watch them grow up in the photos. This trip was not close to being over and the best was yet to come.
