Get the net! Get the BIG net 🤣. #muskyfishing Birthday goals right here!!!
Caught a 53" beast on my special day #4thjuly fishing in #northernontario with @jamesstevenson31 on the mighty French River in @sunset_country region was pure magic. After casting blades, glides, etc. on my @fish_shimano_north_america tranx400 paired with @stcroixrods i decided to jig a @bondybaitcompany outside the weed bed before i could even let the bait sink this monster had it! Maybe she was hanging out under the boat all this time 🤔
Or she was interested in @yamahamotorcanada F70 😂

Caught my first #esoxmasquinongy aka #musky aka #muskyllunge aka #cabbagedragon on the #canadianshield back in 2022 and it sparked a lifelong passion for these ancient predators that lurk in northern canadian waters

Fishing 50 - 2025 Day 32/50
Day 2 of our French River Trip (in Sept - yes we are still behind) and we were heading out with French River Guide @jamesstevenson31 and a pontoon rental from @wolseleylodge - we had fished either James last year and it is always great to spend some time with local guides to learn the water system and fish behavior. James worked hard to get us on fish, find new fish, and teach us what and how he was doing it. Highly recommend James as a guide if you are ever interested in fishing the French. We perfected the drop shot fishing technique for walleye and then gave jig and a worm a run for it. It was lights out fishing, laughing and deepened friendships. These days are always too short but we were left with some confidence to fish this amazing fishery on our own. The weather was less than cooperative but the company made up for it. We have been doing fishing trips with the boys now for a number of years. We often tell stories of previous years catches, adventures and the ones that got away. It is awesome to watch them grow up in the photos. This trip was not close to being over and the best was yet to come.

Fishing 50 - Day 30/50 What a milestone to hit day 30 with a few close friends that have helped fuel the passion for fishing. We spent the morning with a local guide who showed us some tricks and tips for the local water, strategies on how to search for musky and caught my first walleye using the drop shot technique. Even had a chance to watch @carterscharters catch a muskey in front of us. After a quick lunch back at the cabin it was off to try our own luck on “the French”. We battled through some hot sunny weather which didn’t help the fishing. We even had to battle through an uncalled for rain shower. We were rewarded at Sunset with a 50” monster. The fish was successfully released after we used a boat line to measure the fish. One rod in the boat was broken during the action and our net was mangled due to the size of this amazing fish. These fishing trips are just getting better and better.

A rare opportunity to have our daughter Bronte join us for a few days at the French River until the rest of crew makes it up later in the week. It was an amazing weekend and Father’s Day with my son, my Dad, my Uncle, and her. After hearing about this trip for her entire life she was excited to say the least. I was uncertain at first, as much she loves to fish this would be 3 days of fish, sleep, talk fish, and fish some more. She wanted to experience it all, and learned a lot from her big brother @jacobpowerr including how to “bug up” at night. In the end she caught some amazing fish and we were all just as sad as her to see her leave. #fishingfamily #fishing #frenchriver #kidswhofish #fishyourbestlife #walleyefishing #muskyfishing #bassfishing #wolseleybaylodge
