POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

WELL what I can tell you from releasing a movie is it is a lot of work to release a movie, guys. Most of it done by people other than me. The only chance we have of people watching this stupid movie made by a first time director, with less budget than most short films, and a cast comprised of a couple actor actors but otherwise (allegedly) mostly social media personalities and pop stars, is based on the work that everybody else has done. Don’t talk to me about imposter syndrome until you’ve stood in front of a bunch of fucking stars like this and made like you were the guy. What a privilege. And to have people come out and see this thing - what an honor

Thanks also to @shawtheatres for taking a chance on us and supporting local film.

And @euchie1 … For how much you impacted this film and what it is, what it might be to people… a disgrace that you weren’t there. But hey, u snooze u lose my friend

We’re in cinemas now. The cast and I will hit up as many of these screenings as humanly possible because it means so much to us to thank everyone who shows up

Please show up

first bunch of BTS pics on @sandboxmovie.sg, courtesy of @houseofscene who, along with @euchie1 and @mel_lim325 have been invaluable in keeping this production rolling. So, so many other people to thank, for which I will have plenty of time as we have had 9 great days shooting, but still a long way to go.

idk how tf we got here: 2 features in 2 years, 0 film education, just out here being inspired by my personal film school - Chris Guest's 'This is Spinal Tap', Kurosawa's 'High and Low', and @officialspikelee's 'He Got Game', chasing those guys. thank you to absolutely everyone by @jamesthooyc

I don’t tend to get up or down over things that people say about stuff that I do - let people talk their shit. But I happened upon a comment on Reddit about our film that frustrated me yesterday. It said “maybe if they tried creating awareness by radio or talk shows, social media, or posters … it didn’t look like they were enthusiastic enough to promote their own film”.

I can’t blame whoever wrote this because if they didn’t hear about it they didn’t hear about it; it’s not their fault. Something I’m doing must be wrong. Lots to think about to be better next time.

But that said, for now, memorialising our little tribe doing exactly those things. Thanks to everybody who had us and gave us time to talk our shit by @jamesthooyc
