Turns out this one liked the floater a little better.

Countless shots, a miss, and fish pushing so hard their eyeballs were out of the water. After five dry fly changes, we finally found one willing to eat the gurgler.

Thanks @sageindendi for letting me keep throwing it this time…

Finally found the school we'd been looking for all day so of course I grabbed the rod with the floating crab. Sage was not impressed and told me I needed to grab a rod with a different fly....after multiple shots with the floater...I realized I should listen to my wife more often. The rod with the other fly worked......and yes...she wrote this caption.

Sage and I both jumped out of the boat after spotting a happy school moving slow, off in the distance.

First shot—got a follow, but no eat. They slowly swam off but we were able to keep after them on foot. Sage had a couple more shots with some soft looks, but you could tell they weren’t into her fly.

After bouncing off her, they turned and started heading straight towards me.

I gave them a long lead, let it sink all the way to the bottom..first strip...the lead fish saw it but wasn't interested...next strip...the second fish smoked it. Game on.

We were a long ways from the boat, and this big guy almost spooled me. I was sprinting after him with the drag locked down and had only five wraps of backing left on my @hatchoutdoors 7+.

Moments like this are why we do it.
