Happy and grateful to be celebrating another year of life today! I believe joy is available in every season—but I’m thankful to feel truly happy in this one, too.

If my 21-year-old self could see 15 years into the future, I think she would be dang proud of who she became, and who she is becoming. 💕 (Swipe to see that 21-year-old.) And someday at 51 when I’m looking back, I hope my 36-year-old self will feel the same way, too.

“If the future is not in my hands, then I have all the more reason to stay in the present and give honor and glory to God from where I am, trusting that God is the God of life who makes everything new. Who knows where you or I will be next year on June 7th? So why worry about it? God will surprise us.” —Henri Nouwen by @jamiedelaine

First time to Salt Spring Island last weekend, but *certainly* not the last. 💕 The best time with beautiful friends. The most-laughter filled weekend I’ve had in a long time (and I laugh a lot so that’s saying something.)

Too many highlights to list ‘em out, but if I had to pick one, I’d say casually wiping away tears from behind my sunglasses—over sips of black coffee and bites of a chocolate croissant—as we recounted the absolutely unknowable, un-understandable, mysterious faithfulness of God in our lives.

The more life I live, the less I understand. But I know we belong to God, and I know we are more deeply loved than we could ever imagine.

––––

Joy is “the experience of knowing that you are unconditionally loved and that nothing—sickness, failure, emotional distress, oppression, war, or even death—can take that love away. It is a choice based on the knowledge that we belong to God and have found in God our refuge and our safety and that nothing can take God away from us.”

(Quote is from Henri Nouwen, but I discovered it by reading “Prayer in the Night” by Tish Harrison Warren) taken in Salt Spring Island, BC by @jamiedelaine

Marie-Claire + Vincenzo became husband + wife this past weekend and I was so grateful to be there. 💕 The couple drove to their ceremony and walked down the aisle as a pair, which was really sweet. After the ceremony, MC + Vincenzo exited the church to all their guests waving ribbon wands. It was so celebratory and cute!

The Belgard Kitchen reception was a total joy! It’s one of my *favourite* venues in all of Vancouver, and being back there reminded me why that’s still the case :) The room was full of candles, jazz music, mingle guests, lots of food and drinks and personalized touches (including a cocktail crossword puzzle and a temporary tattoo station that the *many* kids at the reception loved.)

To Marie-Claire and Vincenzo, thank you so much for having me. ✨ Can’t wait to share more photos with you soon!

PS. Our story (Marie-Claire and I) began *14 years ago* at her friend Sophia’s wedding. Marie-Claire was one of Sophia’s bridesmaids and I was the photographer! What an honour for MC to remember my work all these years later and have me as her photographer too. Thank you, thank you!

As I dreamed about my 2026, taking a solo international trip was on my must-do list! And so I did it! Last month, I spent 2 weeks in the UK: traveling to Oxford, Bath, Cardiff + London.

I spent my days waking up without an alarm; eating lots of poached eggs and sourdough toast (truly); sipping americanos; walking 20,000+ steps a day; enjoying cake for lunch; finding wine bars that fit ‘the vibe’ for dinner; reading (like, a lot. like 7 books in 9 days, a lot); allowing my mind to wander and process and expand and do all the healthy things brains can do when we give them space to; people-watching and being present. It was a gift. I am so very grateful! (!!)

And it was difficult to choose photos for this carousel so I’m choosing to not overthink it and post it so it has a place on my feed :) But apparently the perfectionist in me still needs you all to know this is a pretty random mix. taken in United Kingdom by @jamiedelaine

Caitlin and Jeff’s story begins back in university! They crossed paths in their third year when Jeffrey showed up to class wearing a t-shirt from the high school Caitlin’s dad went to—a detail that sparked their very first conversation. :)

Almost a decade later, it was a privilege to be their wedding photographer on May 9 as they became husband and wife! 💕

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the concept of “daily bread.” What does it mean to pray for, and recognize, when we’ve received daily bread?

And what should be my response be when I consider my life and see much, much more than daily bread? So much more than was ever promised?

A rich community of friends, food in the fridge, money in savings, a country not at war, breath in my lungs, a body without disease, the ability to experience the colours of flowers and see the wind in my dog’s hair at the beach (lol).

I don’t know. The only response that feels fitting is gratitude, and all my trust. And hopefully, the faith to keep seeing even more clearly. by @jamiedelaine

It’s been a beautiful, full start to 2026.

Road trip to Portland for @brdgtwnchrch conference; leadership retreat at @barnabaslanding; cozy winter evenings at small group; leading a table once again at Alpha; morning walks—rain or shine; vision board-ing with friends; free tickets to canucks games, winning trivia—wow, I think we got lucky we aren’t that smart??; engaging work to pass my workdays (AND so many great coffee shops I get to visit during said workdays); weekend brunches out with friends; Valentine’s Day; new phone habits (thank you Opal app!); a bouquet delivery from a very thoughtful friend with a note attached reading, “Because it’s February, duh” and reading as much as I can (Ann Napolitano, Ann Patchett x2, Anne Lamott + more, but apparently this is the season for Ann(e)s?!) by @jamiedelaine
