I know success isn’t something I can personally measure through my bank balance.

Money without purpose didn’t make me feel successful.

Money can create the feeling of success for some people, but it won’t for others because success is a feeling that everyone creates differently depending on their values.

It’s not something that can simply be measured through materiel wealth.

Therefore the only “REAL” measure of a successful life is how often we can experience the feeling of our “OWN” definition of success.

Today I spend more time creating a life that feels meaningful rather than simply looking impressive.

I work harder on my peace, my relationships, my health, and my ability to be present than anything else.

Today I can honestly say I feel successful with all my heart.

If someone has billions of dollars, it doesn’t automatically make them more successful than me.

It just simply means they have more money than me.

To me, true success is waking up fulfilled, living in alignment to who I am, and knowing I wouldn’t trade my peace for anything money could buy.

If I had to post a pictures of success for me, it wouldn’t be the ones with nice cars, and houses ect.

It would be the ones surrounded by the people who bring out the best in each other.

As a teenager I never expected to make it this far, let alone anybody wanting to make a documentary on my life.

I had all but lost myself in addiction, dereliction and in the identity of a junky, until someone actually saw something in me worth saving.

Being low on options I ended up taking a chance on this man who was hoping I would take to a better way of life if I shown how.

He took me to the small town in Sicily that he grew up in, where I spent a total of 3 years living and working.

It’s been anything but smooth sailing since then, but a seed of hope was planted in me after someone else could see the value in me being alive that I couldn’t even see myself yet.

For years after I returned to Australia, becoming a father, running gyms, competing, coaching, and promoting boxing, I tried to live differently on the outside while still managing my addiction in private.

It took another rock bottom and a desperate need to understand myself to eventually stop hurting myself and others, which is what put me on the spiritual path I walk today.

This path lead me to define and uphold some basic human values.

It taught me purpose via service and contribution and over time I slowly learnt how to become a decent father, a decent partner and a better man in general.

Boxing taught me discipline, and an appropriate way to channel my pain.

Starting and running businesses pushed me to grow and chase a life I actually wanted to live rather than just excepting the life others expected of me or felt I deserved.

All my failures along the way taught me my hardest but most valuable lessons.

They gave me the resilience and humility that only experiencing true humbling losses can teach us.

Today my life has redirected me to Thailand where my partner and I, along with some very good friends are building a purpose built 5 star retreat and a comercial gym.

We now get to pour all of our life experiences (both good and bad😜) into our holistic programs.

Our guests get to experience their own personal evolution while enjoying all the comforts of a wellness retreat on one of Thailands most beautiful islands.

I’m excited to be fighting for the WBC Silver Asia Title in Bangkok next month.

After months preparing for a few fights that either pulled out or are safe to assume aren’t happening now, I’m grateful to get this opportunity.

But these opportunities only come through the support that I get from my friends and sponsors.

The constant support I have been shown is overwhelming.

A lovely week back in the UK doing what I love. Not the result we wanted or the performance we desired but both fighters leave the ring fit and healthy back to their families to fight another day and that’s what really matters. It was lovely to be back around the Matchroom Team and see plenty of old faces from my career. Thank you to @eddiehearn, @franksmith and all the @matchroomboxing team for having us on and as always their hospitality during the week….@t_cole5171 & @aaronbowenn provided an entertaining fight and they both live to fight another day. Well done to Aaron on the victory and well done to Troy on his perseverance over the last few months, let’s rest up, regroup and reassess…Rome wasn’t built in a day. Thank you to @bretts_sef & Mike Jackson for their help and assistance through the week and in the corner. I love this game with all my heart and it was a pleasure to see everyone.
