2024, the year I photographed the least amount since childhood, pulled back, finished up, sunk in, gave up, got lost, flew over, changed changed, thought I might drown, pooled in emptying exhaustion then guilt because of it, added on, spoke up, stayed longer, got quiet, tried different, grew grey, tended earth bug amphibian soil, wrote poems, wrote thesis, told out loud, published photos, questioned everything, read relentlessly, fed loves, feathered something, ferried sunlight, dripped eastward, felt freed, begged humidity, loved loving living longer, held on held on held on. A brutal year. An important year. Which ones aren’t anymore. Thank god the river rises and settles back down all the time - the proof we need to be like water, to keep going. by @jamieswick
