Happy birthday to @jamieswick, one of my biggest inspirations and a true Polaroid amigo. Last year me and Lauren got to visit her on her home turf and experienced the surreality of walking into her images through the various landscapes we visited. Cannon Beach is among the most iconic, but could never be as iconic as Jamie herself!

Polaroid magic from the queen of Polaroid Jamie Swick, @jamieswick

Jamie is a professional Polaroid photographer… no one told me this was a job! She has carved out a niche for herself and she is pretty amazing at it. This first image is one of my favourites, of a mummified bat Jamie found in her fireplace. Jamie’s work shows a fascination with decay and desolate places. Her work is mesmerising.

A favorite from two years ago.
Very expired Polaroid Originals film. Beauty is everywhere.

Perhaps one day you touch the young branch / of something beautiful. & it grows & grows / despite your birthdays & the death certificate, / & it one day shades the heads of something beautiful / or makes itself useful to the next. Walk out / of your house, then, believing in this. Nothing else matters.

I fell in love with Polaroid’s newest batch of black and white film last week, now it’s all I wanna use.

One of those “but will the faded look of expired film wash out all the ugly new cars in the background” moments and once again, expired film wins.
