Today is Blue Monday, the day people call the “most depressing” of the year.

But for a lot of men, that feeling isn’t just one day.
It’s quiet. It’s constant. And it’s hidden behind “I’m fine.”

The Ordinary Man is a film about men’s mental health, masculinity, and the silent battles men fight to appear strong.

If you’re struggling, you’re not weak.
You’re human. And you’re not alone.

💙 Check in on your people today.

Get to Know the Cast: Jamie Doherty is Private Carson

Originally from the small town of Drogheda in Ireland, Jamie Doherty moved to Toronto in 2021 to pursue his passion for acting. With a background in English, drama, and theatre from Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT), Jamie has been actively working to establish himself in the acting world. Currently attending improv and acting classes at Second City, he is continually refining his craft. Getting to work with an amazing cast and crew on The Unknown Soldier in all types of weather, including blizzards, showed the determination and grit each of us had. He said “after the first read the script, he knew they had something great on their hands—something important to everyone”. The powerful exploration of culture, identity, and the struggles of war immediately resonated with him, and the challenges we faced on set only added to the authenticity and emotional depth of the project.
