Mural update!

Nothing has changed about this mural completed with @portlandstreetartalliance a few years back, but the message couldn't be more relevant!

Our society deserves to be free for open discourse and diversity and upward mobility!

Also, shout out to #rubybridges and her mom for being the first to integrate schools in USA almost 60 years ago!

I painted this piece with the help from @jaguarpawprints ! Who i recently connected with again! This was not easy to paint either because the ground was sloped, but we made it happen!

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. Check it out today at 4709 ne Mlk ave in Portland

On Saturday, six youth came together with a local mural artist @jamstarx to continue creating a community mural through our “Creative Placemaking: Inspiring Youth for Road Safety through Art” program.

Through painting and sketching, youth explored important messages about road safety, transportation, and community well-being. What was planned as a two-hour activity turned into even more time together, as several youth were excited to stay longer and keep creating!

This project gave youth a space to express their creativity, build leadership and teamwork skills, and use art to encourage safer roads for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, and everyone in our community. 🖼️ 🎨 taken in Division Midway Alliance by @jamstarx

Hey y'all its a lot going on in the world right now. 🤔

Thankfully i have these beautiful moments from the past month to share with you.🤩📸

I have become reconnected to nature in so many ways, mainly by observing and research. The animals have provide plenty of whimsy, lessons, and gifts that I would have never expected. I even am able to learn the name of many of these insects or birds, telepathically. I see a bunch of hawks and eagles but they are more elusive to cameras and more symbolic for me rn...as a message from my ancestors.

It's a plus that my toddler son is enamored with all winged animals, so chasing and naming birds during our nature walks is a great way to bond, as well.

Enjoy the flicks!

Bumblebee having fun on my local pansy patch.

Bumblebees literally hug the plant.

Centennial mills destruction aftermath.

Honeybee

Honey bee doing its thang on a flower. Note how a smaller bug has to move out the way🤔😆😤

Sharing my chicken burrito with a wasp.

A butterfly came at just the right moment.

The geese dropped in on my crow flick video.😆

The city birds love this person who feeds them.

Blue heron looking majestic on a river log.

Closer up Pic of the heron.🤩

Mid-morning sun during July's wildfire smoke. Felt like being on a star wars planet.

My local Blue Herron, Ottmara. Whats under that dock?

Pigeons grub near some shrubs.

Goose family. This momma made sure all her babies were accounted for, before she left the tide pool area of the river.

@gorillazoe liked my comment on his post. so what better time to remember one of my fave Zoe songs and video moments. The first slide is the artwork i created from the video screenshot. The hand in the kool-aid is so funny too:)
