On Saturday, six youth came together with a local mural artist @jamstarx to continue creating a community mural through our “Creative Placemaking: Inspiring Youth for Road Safety through Art” program. Through painting and sketching, youth explored important messages about road safety, transportation, and community well-being. What was planned as a two-hour activity turned into even more time together, as several youth were excited to stay longer and keep creating! This project gave youth a space to express their creativity, build leadership and teamwork skills, and use art to encourage safer roads for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, and everyone in our community. 🖼️ 🎨

Film photos from the opening reception of “Nocturnes” @onegrandgallery ! Thank you so much to everyone who came out. It was so special to see Portland friends, both old and new 🖤 Couldn’t have pulled off this show without my husband’s support, and the help of Lusi, curator / gallery director! @lu.s.i ✨ Photo credit to Mary for the Polaroids and to Brielle @magicfamiliarstuffies for the Instax minis! 📸 #portlandgallery #contemporarypaintings #posthumanism #pnwartists

In light of the James Webb Space Telescope images released in 2022, which showed an endless number of galaxies, ‘The Universe’ zine and its artists took on the challenge to create the astounding possibilities of what is beyond what we already know. Most of the time, the possibilities that we’d like to know are shared through art and media, like movies and television. With that idea in mind, artists were also asked if they could picture their world/universe as a movie or tv show, how would they rate it as a critic? In 2023, we released a zine with artists in visual art (Traditional, Digital, 3D), photography and literature to explore the worlds that they could only imagine. This was an experimental zine with 22 artists. Cover by @yingshiart

We pounced, painted, and smiled all weekend. This workshop crew was a delight! We went through the process of transferring designs to walls and completed an entire mural in just 2 days — & in 90+ weather! 🥵 What a great way to start off mural season. Thanks for making this weekend so fun everyone! And… Thanks for the wall @urbanitepdx ! #happyplace #muralpainting #mural #muralstreetart #murals #muralart #muralartist #portlandstreetart #pdxmurals #portlandmurals #muralworkshop

I just had the best weekend ever! I took a MURAL workshop from @nicky.kriara AND IT WAS SUPER FUN!! I met a lot of awesome fellow PNW artists as we painted the Urbanite building on Grand Ave and Taylor in Portland! Go check it out, the mural turned out beautiful. Nicky is a great teacher, and this workshop was excellent. I highly recommend, if she offers this class again. (Or a ceramics workshop!) Thank you Urbanite! @urbanitepdx Also, check out my other artist friends from the mural project: @jamstarx @victoriabuchler @sharonesmith.art @curiosityunites @whatabout_bob @potterygardens @garage_of_industry @beetsbyjess #muralpainting #mural #muralart #muralstreetart #muralarts #muralpaintings #muraldesign #muralartists #muralartistsforhire #muralartistforhire #muralartwork #paintingwallslikeaboss #walldecoration #wallart #wallpainting #wallartwork

Never ever dreamed I’d be an author. Never liked the idea of asking for favors. Today is the day that I say... never say.. never? I made my first investment in crypto in 2019. Of all the coins there were, I picked XRP... convinced it was a one way ticket to the moon. It then got embroiled in an SEC lawsuit, and I thought I’d never see my money back. Then, I bought Bitcoin at $10,000 and sold it at $13,000. Fun times 🫠 Point is, I never saw myself as a crypto person. I also detest the (large) part of crypto marketing that is solely about making money. So even though I’ve fallen in love with blockchain technology, and witnessed firsthand the opportunities it can create for anyone from artists to gig workers, I hate being known as the person who has something to say about NFTs at a dinner party. I guess 2025 is the year that changes. This is my first ever book. For all you know, it may very well be my last 😅 Either way, I am SO proud that I got to tell not just my story, but those of 14 others - who just like me, took the leap into being part of a better Internet. Thank you for sharing them with me 🫶 If you know crypto, this book is for you to let you know that you’re not crazy nor are you alone. If you don’t know crypto, this book is to convince you to get onchain - it’s really not as scary or difficult as you think. Digital Mavericks is now available for preorder on Amazon. It comes out February 2025, but it will mean A LOT to me if you preordered it for the holidays... psst - it’s already the #1 new release in the Bitcoin & Cryptocurrencies section! 🎉 (Link in bio!) Thank you thank you thank you - and you’ll be hearing from me more soon ❤️ Swipe 👉 for more amazing artwork by @jamstarx and @danaateoatmeal... yes, there will be merch!
