❌ Triathlon season 2026 is over before it truly even started.

I knew something felt off during the swim in caorle
I had no power in my right arm and one of the worst swims ever. Two hospital visits later, they found a deep vein thrombosis which was caused by the thoracic outlet syndrome (vTOS). A rare condition where there is a abnormal thight spot between the first rib and clavicula, that damages the vein going through over time.

Sure this sucks, but I am grateful that I am surrounded by such a great and sensible environment, where probably worse complications by just pushing through the symptoms, could be prevented.

I feel like I never truly showed what I can do in this sport, and even though success is never guranteed, I will try and fight my way back, because I just love the game trying to get a little bit better everyday. But for now 5-6 months with running and indoor-cycling ahead before I can undergo surgery and swim again. Time to up the 36min 10k pb. 🫣 by @jan.alb

Yess❤️‍🔥 Closing this 4 week racing block on a high and securing 2nd at the austrian championship overall and 1st u23. A hilly run course and hot conditions made for an exciting run final. Not much time to rest, home european cup in Wels coming up in two weeks 🫀

With a good result last weekend at the European Cup in Poland banked I’m lining up at the Austrian Sprint Championship tomorrow in Kirchbichl. 🇦🇹 Position 31 at the EC is a step into the right direction and it feels good to be a part of the race and not only chase it from behind.

✋🏻🤚🏻Alle guten Dinge sind drei! ⭕️
Finally made it to the start of the legendary @apfelland_triathlon after sitting out the last two years due to sickness. And to finish on top makes it even better. 8 degrees is not the temperature you want to hop on a bike with wet clothes but seeing so many familar faces in the race and on the sidelines made up for it. Still i need to improve on my swim-bike-run performance to get ready for a block of @europetriathlon racing action!
