This Mother's Day we celebrate my mother's day baby, my Sweet Joy. We have lived two complete years of divine Joy to the world ! Your laugh radiates through eternity. You leave a lasting impression on all that you encounter. You truly embody a heavenly joy that only God can give. May you live out the fullness of your name, that your life may forever bring God glory. May you remain observant and guarded. May your smile always light up every room.

The miraculous nature of pregnancy and labor evokes a deep reflection. Becoming a mother means that I have quite literally sacrificed my body for the development of another human body. I've been blessed to experience two all natural deliveries without any pain medications or medical interventions. Both times labor and delivery brought me to a point I was certain was my end. Just when I had nothing left to give, God stepped in and another life began. With my husband and sisters by my side I was surrounded by safety and love. Transitioning into motherhood I relied on my instincts to nurse, nurture and protect a new life. With my mind and body exhausted I trusted in God's design. Holding onto the belief that I was created for such a time as this. I am so grateful for Jonathan throughout both experiences. Lord knows he was my anchor and I couldn't have made it without him.
Twice now I've been transformed by motherhood in every single way. I am so grateful to my mom who's gone through this 5 times and my grandma who's gone through this 3 times. I am in awe of every mother I encounter.

It's all so humbling to gaze upon my children and know that the love I feel towards my babies will never compare to God's love towards me. 😭🙌🏾

🌹 This ones for the lovers 🌹

I reflect on this blessed life we are living and thank God every day. No one could have convinced teenage me that Jonathan and I would get married one day. I loved him dearly, but didn't have eyes to see all that we could be. Even still, God was already writing our love story.

I will love you until the end of time, Sergeant Dark Chocolate 😘🫶🏾

Keep on loving me how you do and I'll have all your chocolate babies! 😍🫶🏾

Challenging times come to test or belief in God. When it seems like there is no end in sight, will you let the rocks cry out in your place? At this point praising God became more than a command to follow, it became our life line. We offered a continual praise with the revelation that God has a set time for trials to begin and end. Judah's birth has already proven our family is in a new season.

God's timing is truly amazing !
We always hoped to have our children close in age and God made that our reality. Our Sweet Joy is being promoted to big sis right before she turns 2.

Baby Honoré #2 enters the ring in February of 2026 !!!

What y'all think? Will the girls remain the reigning champs or will the boys make a comeback and even the score? by @janai.chrissy

💜 Happy 2nd Anniversary to us ! 💜

2 years down and a lifetime to go. Little did I know that I found my life partner at 14 yrs old. You were just 16 yrs old. My life forever changed when you said "Hi, I'm Jonathan your section leader" 🤭

In 2011 we met in Miami Central's saxpohone section. 2012 we became bestfriends. 2013 you became a U.S. Marine and our friendship was long distance. 2016 God gave you confirmation that I'm your wife. I was delulu, lol. 2019 God revealed you were my husband and we dated long distance. 2021 we got engaged that December. 2023 you graduated May 8th and we got married less than a month later !!!

2023 started slow, then BOOM, SUDDENLY hit our lives ! June 6th, six + six, twelve. 3 months later we got pregnant. 6 months later we made the announcement, it's a girl. God did it so quick we experienced one change after another. So many highs and lows, but God kept us through it all.

Our 1st Anniversary looked so different. With boxes all around us, we soaked in becoming parents and cuddled with our 1 month old. Joy was born weighing 6lbs 6ozs, twelve again. This anniversary we got to celebrate a love that was 12 yrs in the making ! Our life has been an absolute dream since we said I do. I can't do life with anyone but you !

I love me some you ! And if it's ever a question..... I let people know with the quickness 🗣 My man 6'2, dark skin, wears glasses, with a fro ! He a marine, he build planes from scratch and he loves the Lord ! 😛😛😛 No one compares to you. I see my whole future in your eyes and it's beautiful. Your are my bestest friend and my favorite person in the whole wide world. 😘🫶🏾 Let's make some more chocolate babies. 🥹😏😍 taken in Crazy About You by @janai.chrissy

. .🐢 Chapter 28 🐢. .

What a glorious whirlwind these past few years have been. Getting married and having our sweet daughter. I couldn't find many pictures of just me. (That wasn't hair related, lol) The majority of my pictures are of Joy or us as a family.

I'm so blessed to wake up to my husband and my baby girl on this 28th birthday. As I reflect on these images of 18 year old Janai, I'm amazed at what God has done in the past 10 years ! I'm so looking forward to the next decade.

Not your average girl, and I BOLDY expressed it through fashion for as long as I can remember. My world is so colorful, I hope I bring color and light and joy to everyone around me.
