Introducing the 2027 new The Paris Pirouette - for women entrepreneurs and business owner’s.

I’m already thinking about 2027.

Not resolutions.
Not reinvention.
But who I want around the table.

Because I’ve learned this: the right people don’t just support your ideas. They challenge them. Sharpen them. And sometimes help you see the ā€˜pirouette’ you couldn’t see on your own.

That’s why I created The Paris Pirouette : a six-month global mastermind for women entrepreneurs, founders and business owners ready for their next chapter.

We begin with two days together in Paris in January - because every journey needs a proper send off.

Then we keep going. Connecting virtually twice a month.

Five months of honest conversations, fresh perspectives, accountability, strategy, and a cohort of women who understand what it means to build something on your own.

Because community and connection might just be our greatest business superpower.

So, who do you want around your table in 2027?

The Paris Pirouette begins January 11–12 in Paris.

Applications are open. Link in profile.

I’ve had so many messages over the past day. Such sweet and kind messages from people checking in. It’s so touching, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate them.

It’s been a particularly disheartening 24 hours here in France. And as someone who has spent more than 20 years building businesses, creating jobs, and contributing to this country and its economy, I’m finding it hard to make sense of it all.

But I do believe the universe works in mysterious ways.

By some stroke of luck, maybe even irony, yesterday morning I found myself thinking about entrepreneurship, about the joy of creating something, and about the importance of continuing to build, no matter where we are in life. I’m hoping you agree?!

And so that’s what I wrote about in this week’s newsletter.

Little did I know how much I would need those very words myself today.

Because when things feel uncertain, frustrating, or even a little hopeless, I think there’s something incredibly powerful about turning our attention to what we can create, rather than dwelling entirely on what we cannot control.

I’ve always believed that it’s never too late to begin something new. To reinvent ourselves. To take an idea and see where it might lead.

And perhaps now, more than ever, that’s a belief worth holding on to.

In this week’s newsletter, I’m sharing a little more about what I’m building.

Today amongst all the noise, I’m thinking about quite moments.

The quiet moments you wish you could share with someone. And the cerise sur le gâteau? Having someone you feel so comfortable with that you can simply sit together in silence, without needing to say a word.

I have a few people I’d love to share this bench with - which reminds me, I’d better tell them that.

What about you? taken in Paris, France by @janebertch

Why Pirouette and not Pivot?

I get asked this question a lot about my mastermind for women entrepreneurs.

I think words matter. They carry meaning and intention. And while everyone interprets words differently, here’s the world according to Jane.

To me, a pivot feels like a hard turn. A big change in direction. A shift from one thing to another. For me, that’s a business focus.

A pirouette? That’s something entirely different.

A pirouette is subtle. Graceful. That’s a YOU focus.

It’s about finding your balance, continuing to find ideas and inspiration, staying connected to your center, and moving in a new direction that is aligned with you.

You are the one who should drive your business, your business should not be driving you.

And that is exactly what I want for the women in my mastermind.

Sometimes, we simply need to see things from a different perspective and have a safe place to work and share - with other incredible women.

A pivot changes your direction. A pirouette changes your perspective.

That makes all the difference.

But you know I love a debate. Tell me what you think.

If you want to know more about The Paris Pirouette, the link is in my bio.

Going from one thing to the next can be hard.

This is a little PSA from a door in Paris.

When I walked past this door, and I just had to take a picture.

It’s clearly in the middle of a transition. The old paint is being stripped away, and a new color is on its way.

And I couldn’t help thinking how beautiful it is, right now, exactly as it is. It actually looks like a piece of art!

It was a blue door for a very long time. And maybe soon it’ll be a green door for a very long time.

But it will only ever be this messy, imperfect, beautiful version of itself for this one little moment.

And isn’t that something?

We spend so much time trying to get from who we were to who we’re becoming that sometimes we forget there’s beauty in the middle.

The in-between gets to be beautiful, too.

Anyway, just something I’m reminding myself of, courtesy of a door in Paris.

I know so many incredible women who can solve just about any problem.

They have ideas for businesses. Solutions to problems in their communities. All types of ideas that would make everyday life easier.

And yet, so many of those ideas never see the light of day.

They just sit there, somewhere in the back of their minds.

And when I start asking questions (because you know I always do) I hear all sorts of reasons why they haven’t done anything with those ideas.

And I’ve been thinking about this a lot.

Because I don’t believe the problem is the women.

I think there’s something wrong with the system.

We’re told entrepreneurship has never been easier. That anyone can start a business. That all you need is a good idea.

Poppycock.

We are missing something really important.

Before you even get to the idea, you need to understand who you are. What you already know. What you’re capable of.

And I can almost guarantee you that, no matter what you’ve done in your life up to this point, there are ten different ways you could apply that experience to something new.

Because we never start from zero.

And that’s what I’ve been quietly working on.

Something to help women see what’s already there, recognize what’s possible, and help them find an accessible path in@what ever direction they choose.

And when I say entrepreneurship, I think entrepreneurship is as much a spirit as it is a business.

So I’m inviting you along for the journey.

If you’ve ever had an idea that wouldn’t leave you alone, or no idea at all and wondered what else you might be capable of, I’d love you to join me.

I’m starting a waitlist for The Paris IncubatHER.

There’s nothing to buy. Nothing you need to have figured out.

Just a place to raise your hand if you’d like to see where this goes.

People often ask me how I built a business(s) here in France. Specifically, how I start things I’ve never done before.

Here’s what I’ve learned from experience:

You don’t have to start with the tools. You don’t have to start with the experience. And you certainly don’t start with all the answers.

You start by believing in something you can’t yet see.

Il faut le croire pour le voir : You have to believe it to see it.

That means you have to believe in it before you can even start to completely visualize it.

And then.

Il faut le voir pour le croire : You have to see it to believe it.

That means you have to find the courage to act, even without certainty. You take little steps, you learn, you build, you fumble, but little by little, you start to see that that thing you imagined finally becoming real.

Belief helps you begin.
Action gives you the evidence to keep going.

That’s the big secret. Let me also remind you that changing direction - personally and/or professionally - at any age, is the right we all should feel free to exercise.

……

PS - I can’t take credit for these beautiful French words.

I actually saw them on a billboard at Gare de Lyon. And as I often remind myself, the universe loves speed and action - I missed the boat.

I wanted to snap a photo, but I got distracted and didn’t. When I went back, the billboard was gone.

I suspect it was an advertising campaign, but those words stayed with me.

Because for me, they captured something so fundamental about the entrepreneurial journey - and any other meaningful journey.

I’d love to give credit to whoever created that campaign. If you recognize these words or know where they came from, let me know! taken in Paris, France by @janebertch

There’s a lot of talk about building a personal brand - but
let’s get back to basics.

Having lived in France for 20 years, not only working in other businesses but building two businesses of my own, I can tell you one lesson that has been invaluable. And I say from experience:

There is no such thing as building a sustainable business without building a strong personal brand.

And that personal brand isn’t built on Instagram.

Don’t get me wrong. I love that we have these platforms to share our work and connect with people!

But I think we’ve lost sight of what personal branding actually means.

It’s your reputation. Your relationships. Your credibility. How you show up. What people say about you when you’re not in the room.

And most importantly, who you are offline.

Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned about doing business in France, it’s this:

It’s not who you say you are. It’s who you are - period.

And that’s what builds a business that lasts.

But I’d love to know what you think.

A little PSA from Paris. A little bit of Franglais (according to me).

A friend who believes in the magic of the universe (which, I admit, I sometimes do too) texted me that today is an especially lucky day to manifest. 10/10/2026

And it got me thinking about those two words: luck and manifest.

In French, luck is: La Chance.

I love that ā€˜chance’ in English means to go for it.

And to manifest, here in France, ā€˜manifester’ means taking to the streets, and fighting for something you believe in. We’ve seen plenty of that this past week.

So I just a little reminder that luck, in my opinion, is nothing more than daring to take the chance and then fighting to make it happen.

I had to remind myself that perspective is everything.

It’s never what you see, it’s how you choose to look at it ✨.

But that’s my opinion.

A PSA from Paris, with love, because I hear this all the time.

I talk to so many people with beautiful ideas that never see the light of day because they are afraid they don’t have the expertise. They don’t have the experience.

But here’s the thing: anything can be learned.

You will never become an expert without first passing through the stage of being an apprentice.

The question is: are you willing to do that?

Are you willing to take the time to learn? To practice? To be new at something and stick with it long enough to get good at it?

That’s the only secret.

And I want to remind you that you can do that at any point in your life.

The only person putting an expiration date on your dream is you.

So if there’s something calling to you, take a moment and learn about it. Get curious. And then, try it on for size.

See how you feel in it.

You might just surprise yourself….i hope you do.

Every time I talk about the importance of community, I get DMs - primarily from women telling me how hard it is to find theirs.

The epidemic of loneliness is real.

And I see it especially in women who are in a season of growth and expansion, trying to connect with a new version of themselves.

I don’t underestimate how hard it can be to find people who are on the same journey as you.

But let’s remember what community actually means - if you find yourself on a one way street of giving and never receiving, it’s time to change.

Community is:

People who support one another.

People who see your success as an expander, not a threat.

People who understand that inspiration and jealousy are two different things.

People who include you.

People who share wonderful moments with you, not just tell you about theirs.

People who open doors for you, rather than closing them once they’re safely on the other side.

People who speak your name in rooms you are not in.

So consider this your reminder:

You don’t need a hundred pennies. Four quarters will do just fine.

Never shrink or settle.

You will always be the right person, but ONLY for the right people. taken in Paris, France by @janebertch
