The world is a fucking dumpster fire, and I have a fuck ton of rage right now trying to figure out how to protect my girls and educate my son.

But you know what gives me a glimpse of hope even when women are being raped by men in groups, the government is failing 50%(+) of its people, and the world is trying to literally erase women from being seen...

What gives me hope is women like Camille, Christine, Lily, Emily, Jane, Shari, and Lauren who are building, growing, selling, and pushing forward with their audacious and brilliant goals to change the world around them.

I left Paris in the dark this morning. By lunchtime, I was here.

I came to Arles in June with my French teacher, during my week of French immersion in Avignon. It was 40 degrees, which was definitely not the ideal temperature for traipsing around Provence trying to improve my French, but I loved Arles and knew I wanted to come back.

I also had a delicious lunch that included moules gratin, which I have thought about an unreasonable number of times since.

So, three months later, I’m back. Thankfully it’s ten degrees cooler, the moules gratin are still on the menu and Arles is every bit as beautiful as I remembered.

I’m here for a weekend of art. LUMA tomorrow and the Arles 2026 Recontres de la Photographie, plus one last provincial summer market before I head back to Paris.

But today was simply a train, a long lunch and an afternoon wandering around Arles.
