This project has been on my heart for a long time but never came together when I wanted it to. I like to believe when the timing is right the pieces come together as they are suppose to and this one really did even though it took a few years to get there.

In order to finally get my project off the ground, I enlisted my family while we were both visiting home, which really added to the specialness of the project. The girls are sisters and my little cousins who very well could be my nieces for their age. I adore them and the time we got to spend together for that brief early July morning last year.

This project is about sisters, make believe, dress up and the inescapable bond that forms when all you have is each other for better or worse and you’re young with not much to do.

In the end, the patience and perseverance paid off even if it meant waiting 4 years. It seems after that, all I needed was a little tea and a lace table cloth from Price Chopper in Cleveland to pull it off.

Thanks to my family team for making it all possible 🩵

Small visual ode to New York views from a recent archive pull and a couple images that turned into postcards for out of towners earlier this year. It’s been almost two years since I joined the #fujix100v following and I get the hype. It’s a super fun camera that brings me joy when I download the card once a season like a roll of unfinished film in my camera. Always expanding the postcard list, feel free to DM your address and I’ll get you on the next mailing 📩 taken in New York City by @janellebendycki

When I first moved to New York my close friend I met on set back in Pittsburgh invited me to the beach on Long Island. It was late August/September in Long Beach with a crew of surfers. I didn’t know surfing was a thing in New York but that’s what living land locked for most of my adult life up until that point showed me.

Fast forward to last month, I was back on Long Beach with an opportunity to photograph a family surf story with Steve and his lovely daughters for the @alexa_nypost Father’s Day issue in partnership with @cadillac. Steve has traveled all over to surf but Long Beach is where it all began.

Sharing some selects and outtakes from this super early and fun day on set with the best of the best. So very grateful for all the friends that made this project come to life especially Steve and his daughters.

Thank you to @jessicahober for the call and many thanks to @dereklreed for the recommendation.

the Ides of March—an in-between stage, a precipice of something new that felt like a lifetime but now feels only as a fleeting space of time when nothing was in focus and everything made sense.

Hopelessly lost but also found, life is a series of paradoxes that I love.

With wisps of joy and a lightness of her spirit she emanates the impermanence of time and thoughts of joy that come and go quickly when you play in the realms of the unseen and intangible.
