The finale! The 7th day of wearing @spanx on my head, after losing a bet to @sarablakely.

This began with friendly ribbing, intended to perhaps evoke some harmless shame. Instead, it became a JOYFUL creative outlet and an unexpected form of SELF-CARE during this perilous time. Simply put, I needed this! “Spanx you,” very much, Sara. (Couldn’t resist!)

Beyond her steadfast mission to empower women, her genius business acumen, and her generous philanthropy, I’ve always admired Sara’s insistence upon pushing past fear to achieve personal GROWTH. When I agreed to this #SpanxChallenge, I was fearful of appearing silly, especially amidst such a serious global climate. Through this experience, I’ve since learned the importance of moving through “analysis paralysis” as well as the necessity of BALANCE.

Yes, many of us are rightfully scared, sad, stressed, also angry because of the #coronavirus, coupled with the painful daily realities of #systemicracism. To remain physically and mentally powerful in the fights against both, we must try to find moments to REPLENISH our spirits. Part of my replenishment this past week came from this FUN and welcome return to daily hair styling and makeup application. Another part came from my return to social media. I’ve enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. Let’s STAY CONNECTED. Sending LOVE to all. by @janellsnowden

Just because… I heard it’s #NationalLipstickDay, and I’m 100% here for it!

All #lipstick brings me joy, but matte #redlips are my all-time favorite. I’m always down to discover new non-drying brands. What’s your favorite bright, bold #redlipstick? 💄
