2 INGREDIENT STRAWBERRY SORBET 🍓🍓

who knew sorbet was so easy to make? here’s an easy-to-follow recipe inspired by @busybakerblog

#dEATS:
1. Blend together: 3 cups frozen strawberries & 1/2 cup simple syrup (recipe below)
2. Freeze for 2-3 hours. The sorbet may need a couple minutes to thaw before scooping.

Simple Syrup:
Dissolve 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar over medium heat. Remove from heat, cool, and refrigerate in an airtight container.

Note: I love using simple syrup because it preserves the fruity flavor. I have also tried to use the honey method (instead of simple syrup), but honey imparts its own flavor that I wasn’t a fan of. taken in California by @janeteats

I brought a GIANT EGG TART to a pie picnic 🥧
(my semi-controversial opinion is that pies are giant tarts)

Here’s the ✨easiest✨ giant egg tart recipe ever (<10 min of actual prep!):
1. PREP: Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare the sugar water (details below).
2. Use a fork to poke holes throughout the frozen pie crust.
3. Whisk 1/2 cup evaporated milk, 3 room temperature eggs, and 1 tsp vanilla extract together.
4. Add in the sugar water (details below).
5. Strain the mixture.
6. Pour the filling mixture into the prepared pie crust.
7. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.

TO MAKE THE SUGAR WATER:
Dissolve 1/2 cup granulated sugar in 1 cup hot water. Cool the mixture to room temperature.

this burger spot is Georgia’s HIDDEN GEM @the_lunch_counter

located next to a gas station, this takeout spot offers droolworthy smash burgers, chopped cheese sandwiches, and more. it’s truly one of the best burger & fries i’ve ever had.

sonoma county & napa valley itinerary: a full day of cheese & wine tasting 🧀🍷

started the morning with cheese tasting & more! found my new favorite cheese, tripe crème brie from their cheese tasting 😋

had a delicious PUERTO RICAN lunch in downtown petaluma. so yummy & filling, and lots to explore in the town.

walked a little ways away from downtown petaluma and had some more cheese tasting (again) & ice cream!

then we drove to napa valley for more cheese tasting, wine, and stunning views.

authentic, ~made from scratch~ soft tofu soup (soondubu) from @dubu.gongbang 🍲

if you know me, you know that I’m obsessed with tofu soup. and the best tofu soup I’ve ever had is located in Duluth, GA (speaking as someone from CA, I’m shocked too).

not only do they have a delicious variety of tofu soups, their menu includes appetizers and shareable plates like Dubu Mushroom Japchae and Spicy Dubu Jeongol (featured at the end) 😋 taken in Duluth, Georgia by @janeteats
