@ian7023 and I were talking the other day, and the word “ play “kept coming up. It stuck with me. As adults, we’re all conditioned to just grind, put our heads down, and work hard. But we forget how important it is to just play. Even though we are all grown, being in that playground mindset lets you actually look around and explore things that hard work alone never could.

For the last few days during the pop up, @theeditor.salon was exactly that, a playground 🛝 for Sunbrew☀️

Stepping into that newly renovated space, it became about making genuine connections through coffee, life, and shared obsessions like watches, camera gears, and hifi setups. It was catching up with old friends, trading perspectives, or just laughing about absolute nonsense. Everyone who showed up for a haircut or a filter pour-over brought incredible energy. Honestly, it completely rejuvenated my 🧠💭mindset and perspective. I haven’t had a play session like that in a very long time 🛝

I’m thoroughly grateful to everyone who supported this pop-up and enjoyed the filter coffee I served. Huge thanks to the team at The Editor Salon for making an outsider feel right at home. And thank you, Ian not just for the invite, but for trusting me to be the very first pop-up after the place was newly renovated. Thanks for allowing me to “play” and have a great time.

Our Path To Here started somewhere small, but it led to this amazing connection with everyone who was involved and supported us. ☀️Sunbrew was never just a coffee place. It’s a connection point for people from all walks of life. We share that exact same sentiment with The Editor Salon, it’s never just about the coffee or the haircut💇💇‍♀️. Just 35 mins away from KL, we found ourselves at @kebunatok, an old orchard turned into the loveliest picnic cafe and makan spot.

We came for their homecooked-style breakfast spread, serving nasi lemak, nasi lemuni, ayam goreng and some seriously yummy local kuihs. The food was SO SEDAPSS. As most of my Malay friends would say, the best Malay food is always hidden in someone’s home, cooked by experienced makciks. Couldn’t agree more!

The whole environment is so santai.. we spent the morning eating, laughing way too much and just enjoying good local food in good company.

The founders, @ena_hadzir and @syamly, are two incredibly talented souls who have put so much thought and effort into curating this experience for their guests. Not to mention, being generous enough to open up the space to us, so we could all experience a lil getaway from the city. 🥹

This got me thinking.. isn’t it amazing that we get to experience little gems like this right here in Malaysia? Oh, I ❤️ Malaysia. 🫶🇲🇾

Two months back, I bid farewell to my first car - Myvi SE, the ultimate king of the road.

The one and only constant over the past 12 years, seeing me grow through every stage of my twenties and into my mid-thirties. You’ve heard me sing badly, seen me ugly cry, and let me fly down empty highways at ungodly hours. Always steady, always trustworthy, and never asking for much in return.

Super fuel-efficient. Cheap to service. Cheap to maintain. Basically, the perfect low-maintenance friend. 😆

Hope your next owner is as cool as me, and takes great care of you just like I did.

Before this Japan trip, I made it a point to sneak in a few runs because there’s no better way to explore a place than on foot.

Running around Kugenuma was pure bliss. After a few days of sensory overload in Tokyo, slowing things down in a small coastal town was exactly what we needed. The sky felt wider, the air felt fresher, and everything just moved at a gentler pace.

The best part? We turned our morning run into a bakery-and-coffee crawl. Run to a bakery for breakfast, then another few kms to a neighbourhood for coffee. It made all the carbs feel a little less sinful.

Our fave find was a humble bakery in Kamakura called @komo_pan_hou . Their red bean butter bun was, without exaggeration, the best bread I had during the entire trip.

From there, we ran a few more kms to @suzukugui, a tiny cafe tucked away in a quiet alley in Kugenuma. Small, cosy, and exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble upon while travelling.

6km later, we made it back to our Airbnb with a hearty breakfast, great coffee, and even better company @ah___liang 💕 taken in Kugenuma by @janleejj
