His impact went beyond entertainment—he was a reminder that Black queer disabled people deserve to take up space, be celebrated, and live loudly. His confidence, humor, and refusal to shrink himself inspired countless people to embrace their own authenticity without apology.

Celebrating Alvin Ailey, the visionary choreographer and dancer who revolutionized American modern dance and created a timeless legacy that continues to inspire generations.

In 1958, Ailey founded the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City with a mission to celebrate the Black experience through dance and provide opportunities for Black dancers at a time when they were largely excluded from major dance companies. His company became a global phenomenon, performing for millions across six continents and earning recognition as a cultural ambassador for America.

Ailey's most iconic work, *Revelations* (1960), is a masterpiece that draws from his childhood memories of growing up in the South and attending church. Set to African American spirituals, gospel, and blues, the piece is a profound celebration of Black resilience, faith, and joy. It remains one of the most performed ballets in the world and is considered an essential work of American art.

Though Ailey lived during a time when being openly gay carried significant stigma, his artistry spoke volumes. He created dance that honored Black culture with dignity, beauty, and power, influencing countless artists and expanding what American dance could be.

Alvin Ailey's legacy reminds us that our stories deserve to be told through every art form, and that Black queer creativity has always been at the heart of cultural innovation.

Celebrating Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, the trans elder, activist, and living legend who has spent over five decades fighting for the most marginalized members of our community with unwavering love and fierce determination.

Miss Major was on the front lines of the Stonewall Riots in 1969, standing up against police brutality and demanding dignity for trans people at a time when it was dangerous to simply exist. But her activism didn't stop there—she has dedicated her entire life to supporting trans women of color, particularly those who are incarcerated, formerly incarcerated, and surviving on the margins.

She served as the Executive Director of the Transgender Gender-Variant & Intersex Justice Project (TGIJP), where she worked tirelessly to support trans people in the prison system and advocate for their safety, dignity, and freedom. Her work addresses the intersection of transphobia, racism, and the prison industrial complex with a depth of understanding that can only come from lived experience.

Miss Major's story is featured in the powerful 2015 documentary *Major!*, which chronicles her remarkable life and activism. Now in her 80s, she continues to be a guiding light and mother figure to countless trans people, offering wisdom, support, and the reminder that our liberation is bound together.

Miss Major teaches us that true revolution is rooted in love, that our elders deserve honor and protection, and that we must never stop fighting for each other.
