We linked up with Ode and Mo from the Black and Snerdy Podcast, and instead of keeping it positive, we did the opposite. This is Rant Day, where everybody gets to air out what really grinds their gears.

Jardo goes off on the fake job interview grind, companies that pull you in on Zoom, waste your time, and cancel the position the day after they emailed you for it. D'Marcus is still not over the MCU erasing Kang the Conqueror, and he's going to see Doomsday but complain the whole way there. And Mo brings the biggest one: GTA 6 is about to become the excuse the whole industry uses to kill physical media for good, from games to your favorite anime discs, and the pre-order numbers are already proving him right. The crew gets into where the culture is headed, what we lose when everything goes digital only, and why complaining loudly to the people who actually make this stuff is the only way anything changes.

If you love geek culture, hot takes, and two podcast crews with real chemistry going off, this is your episode. Go follow the Black and Snerdy Podcast wherever you listen, subscribe and follow Black Geek Energy, and tell us in the comments what grinds your gears.

If you love anime and video games but never heard the word litRPG, this is the episode that puts you on. Jardo and D'Marcus break down the fastest growing genre in fiction from the ground up, no gatekeeping.

They cover what actually makes a book a litRPG (the game mechanics have to be on the page), the surprising history that traces the genre back to Andre Norton's Quag Keep in 1978, and the whole subgenre map from system apocalypse to dungeon core to monster POV. Then they get into the books that hooked them: Dungeon Crawler Carl and its jump to a TV show, He Who Fights With Monsters, Chrysalis, and Life Reset, the one where the hero gets turned into a goblin. They connect the dots for the anime crowd through Solo Leveling, Re Zero, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, explain why the audiobook boom and narrators like Soundbooth Theater blew the genre up, and tell you exactly where a total beginner should start. Plus a Put You On for Saucy Santana's Quiet on the Creek and the board game Evolution.
