“Venus of Vigliano”, Colored Pencil & Acrylic on Paper Mounted Panel, 6 in X 12 in, 2026.

Excited to be exhibiting this piece at @gotham.ny for pride month! Opening is June 4th, 6-8 at Gotham Bowery’s The Mezz. Curated by @_sozelle

Historically, Venus is known as the goddess of love and beauty. In the modern world, Venus has gained a new reputation as the goddess of LGBT folks and femmes. The symbolism of Venus has evolved from the infamous “Birth of Venus” created by Sandro Botticelli, to being referenced in the media by pop icons and modern day astrologers.

This colored pencil piece is one of the works I created during my 2026 artist residency at @cadlavolp , in Piemonte, Italy. The residency has a statue of Venus in their infamous garden. This statue was found on the side of the road in Vigliano d’Asti, with lipstick and makeup painted on Venus’ face. During my residency, the statue of Venus felt like a vessel of divine feminine energy.

The Ca' d'la Vòlp Residency is back for season two! And to kick start an Enchanted April, we welcome back @jaredfresch, fresh from a solo show @hexumgallery

Jared's last show was described as drawing "rainbow visions of an Italian summer" by @sevendaysvt and recently his work was featured in the Compendium of Coloured Pencil by @thedrawingstall

For this period @cadlavolp he is working on some new pieces taking direct inspiration from the garden, and celebrating his 30th birthday with us next week!

Grateful for this amazing exhibition at @hexumgallery! My show “Easy Lovers” included colored pencil works that referenced themes from my artist residency in Italy, aura photography, and technicolor cinema. Very sad to see it end, yet very excited for what’s to come!

I truly enjoyed connecting with so many incredible people in this beautiful space! Thank you so much to @john.zaso and @mektee for this great experience and for making Vermont feel like home 💞

“Simon’s Studio”
Colored Pencil & Acrylic on Paper Mounted Panel
18 in X 24 in, 2026

Had the pleasure to spend a whole month working on my art practice in @simon_foxall studio at @cadlavolp in 2025. Being surrounded by Simon’s ornate, turbulent
oil paintings while I was creating, influenced me to have him pose in front of his incredible work for this piece 🌋

On view at @hexumgallery as a part of my solo exhibition, “Easy Lovers”. Now open until March 20th in Montpelier, Vermont. taken in Montpelier, Vermont by @jaredfresch
