A holiday weekend in Antigua: Día de Todos los Santos (All Saints’ Day). There was much to do and see: coffee, kite flying, and grave decoration in the cemetery; processions through the historic Antigua streets; and live music in Parque Central. Earlier this month, I spent my week working from the Detroit Institute of Arts ( @diadetroit ). Kresge Court (image 4) is easily one of my favorite locations for work and study in the city. And there’s nothing quite like intermittent breaks to absorb the works of Rembrandt (image 3), Hals, Holbein, Bruegel, Cranach, Caravaggio, Velázquez, Goya (image 6), and other masters within the collection. Pewabic Pottery ( @pewabic , image 1) is also heavily featured throughout the walls of the museum. taken in Detroit Institute of Arts by @jargaze

🎊 Leah and I had a wonderful dinner downtown at Ottava Via last night. We reflected on some of the past year, and our hopes for 2024. 🤍 So much that I could share, but I thought I’d limit it to books. 2023 was definitely a record year for me thanks to hoopla and speechify and the ability to squeeze books into my commutes, runs, and cooking.
