I felt like I spent these last 2 years on my knees–
praying, crying, thanking, and praising Jesus.

Upon having Tommy John surgery and then getting released after, I had no clue what to do or where to even begin.

But I watched in awe as the Lord placed the most incredible people around me, healed and strengthened me, provided for my literal every need, directed my steps, and delivered me from all my doubts and fears. I watched the Lord open and close doors that no man could open and that no man could close. Continually overwhelmed in His love.

After rehabbing for 18 months, Jesus blessed me with the opportunity to pitch in the Atlantic League and allowed me to finish strong and healthy. This season went much different than I ever anticipated, but through many trials and uncertain moments marked by my failures, Jesus proved unwavering, faithful, and in complete control. Protecting me and increasing me all the while.

I wanted to share a special moment from it ——>

After a game one night, I was talking with a good friend of mine (shoutout @arthur_warren ) who was playing for the opposing team. I shared with him how the season was going (not great haha) and that although I was trusting in the Lord, the very human side of me was finding it difficult to make sense of things. Art just looked at me and grinned. And then he put his hand on my shoulder and told me that the Lord had placed it on his heart to tell me “be patient, you’re sparring for the big battle”.

Looking back now, it’s so easy to see how the Lord was upholding and preparing me the entire time– straightening my path. Covered in His grace and mercy. Turned my tears into rejoicing. Gave me rest when I needed it and delivered me in battle.

Getting Tommy John surgery (UCL reconstruction) on Friday. Definitely unexpected, but I don’t have an ounce of doubt or worry about it– honestly I’m pretty excited. I’ve been dealing with this for 3+ years now and I know that only by the grace of God and His hand upon me have I been able to throw a baseball and compete at the level I’m at. I’m grateful that God is continuing to mold and sculpt me! My hope remains in Jesus. by @jarod26_

The last time I threw in the rain, this picture was taken— just over 3 years ago.

This picture and this moment was all I could think about when I stepped on the mound last night. It was storming the night the picture was taken, and at the time it felt like my life was in the middle of a storm also. But to stand on that mound last night as it was pouring rain and to have only complete peace and assurance, my only thought was Jesus.

To realize how far God has brought me. How faithful Jesus has been to me. His tender mercy and perfect love. How He has lifted me up and delivered me through every single obstacle. Planted my feet on solid ground. by @jarod26_
