Haven’t tried these in a while. Probably 80 throws deep when I was at 95yds so maybe 5-10 more yds when fresh. Don’t really matter tho— only my ego that’s concerned lol. Hope everyone is doing good and applying tremendous newton meters of torque into the baseball. <3 by @jarebear_throws

I felt like I spent these last 2 years on my knees–
praying, crying, thanking, and praising Jesus.

Upon having Tommy John surgery and then getting released after, I had no clue what to do or where to even begin.

But I watched in awe as the Lord placed the most incredible people around me, healed and strengthened me, provided for my literal every need, directed my steps, and delivered me from all my doubts and fears. I watched the Lord open and close doors that no man could open and that no man could close. Continually overwhelmed in His love.

After rehabbing for 18 months, Jesus blessed me with the opportunity to pitch in the Atlantic League and allowed me to finish strong and healthy. This season went much different than I ever anticipated, but through many trials and uncertain moments marked by my failures, Jesus proved unwavering, faithful, and in complete control. Protecting me and increasing me all the while.

I wanted to share a special moment from it ——>

After a game one night, I was talking with a good friend of mine (shoutout @arthur_warren ) who was playing for the opposing team. I shared with him how the season was going (not great haha) and that although I was trusting in the Lord, the very human side of me was finding it difficult to make sense of things. Art just looked at me and grinned. And then he put his hand on my shoulder and told me that the Lord had placed it on his heart to tell me “be patient, you’re sparring for the big battle”.

Looking back now, it’s so easy to see how the Lord was upholding and preparing me the entire time– straightening my path. Covered in His grace and mercy. Turned my tears into rejoicing. Gave me rest when I needed it and delivered me in battle.

Reserved are the depths of my heart only for you Jesus. by @jarebear_throws

Starting to mix in all off-speed pitches everyday now. Only throwing changeups off the mound currently, but in the next couple weeks I’ll start ripping everything else off the mound.

Other than it being my first bullpen, today’s focus was to NOT cross-fire and land straight towards the catcher (thanks dad).

I’ve gotten into a bad habit of cross-firing which
1) limits my pelvis opening up
2) limits H/S separation (if you don’t have the mobility to cross-fire)
3) Forces me to throw against my body

I basically eliminated all active rotation for the sake of this pen which surprisingly felt good to do so. (I was actually landing straight and not throwing across body.)

Once I completely cut out the cross-fire and consistently land straight towards catcher, I’ll be able to focus more on rotating in a linear direction and then velo ⬆️

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7-8
