Good programming works. Maybe.

A few weeks ago I was at a crossroads with Jarod. Wasn’t exactly sure what to play with mechanically, and didn’t know what constraints to progress. We had a conversation that basically went like this…

“what do you suck at?”
“Plyos, 100%”

A pretty good idea is to get better at what you suck at. This little “velo” phase, if you will, was to simply PR. We drew up what 2 weeks of AREG plyo velos would look like and we sent it. Each session he PR’d. From session 0 (before this block) to session 4 Jarod went from:
Blue (450g) 68 > 71
Red (225g) 82 > 88
Yellow (150g) 87 > 95
Grey (100g) 90 > 97

And yes, he’s plyo velo’d before.

We utilized autoregulation to dictate volume per session and days in between sessions. Best part, creating physiological change, not just a cutesier looking throw. Yeah, he probably just got better at throwing plyos though. Don’t know don’t cay.

I felt like I spent these last 2 years on my knees–
praying, crying, thanking, and praising Jesus.

Upon having Tommy John surgery and then getting released after, I had no clue what to do or where to even begin.

But I watched in awe as the Lord placed the most incredible people around me, healed and strengthened me, provided for my literal every need, directed my steps, and delivered me from all my doubts and fears. I watched the Lord open and close doors that no man could open and that no man could close. Continually overwhelmed in His love.

After rehabbing for 18 months, Jesus blessed me with the opportunity to pitch in the Atlantic League and allowed me to finish strong and healthy. This season went much different than I ever anticipated, but through many trials and uncertain moments marked by my failures, Jesus proved unwavering, faithful, and in complete control. Protecting me and increasing me all the while.

I wanted to share a special moment from it ——>

After a game one night, I was talking with a good friend of mine (shoutout @arthur_warren ) who was playing for the opposing team. I shared with him how the season was going (not great haha) and that although I was trusting in the Lord, the very human side of me was finding it difficult to make sense of things. Art just looked at me and grinned. And then he put his hand on my shoulder and told me that the Lord had placed it on his heart to tell me “be patient, you’re sparring for the big battle”.

Looking back now, it’s so easy to see how the Lord was upholding and preparing me the entire time– straightening my path. Covered in His grace and mercy. Turned my tears into rejoicing. Gave me rest when I needed it and delivered me in battle.

Reserved are the depths of my heart only for you Jesus.

Today Bryce COMMITTED to the biggest and most important commitment he will ever do.

Today he chose to be baptized by his sister Bailey and commit to being a follower of Jesus Christ from this day on for eternity.
•
This has been a process that he chose to undergo for a while now. Last year @sunvalleycc youth summer camp he accepted Jesus as his lord and savior and wanted to be baptized shortly after. We told him that it was the biggest commitment that he could make and a very serious one. We wanted him to take some time to learn what it meant before rushing to do it.
•
After attending church, baptism classes, talking to so many other Christians that he has leaned on for understanding and guidance, and a lot of discussion as a family, we told him that we thought he was ready and signed him up.
•
He was so excited and nervous because he understood what it all meant and it made him want it so much more.
•
We couldn’t be more proud of the young man he is becoming.
•
God bless you son, keep doing what you’re doing. Remember as a follower of Christ our goal is to live a Christ-like life and to help usher others into his arms so that they too can receive his glory and an opportunity at eternal life by choosing to follow Jesus, just as you have!

January 25th & 26th 10:00AM - 3:20PM

Bullpens will begin at 10AM Saturday Jan. 25th and roll every 20 minutes with a Lunch Break at 12:20PM with the last bullpen taking place at 3PM

Bullpens will resume Sunday January 26th at 10AM every 20 minutes up until a lunch break at 12:20PM, with the last bullpen taking place at 3PM
