POSTS STORIES REELS

Wing Trace🪽by Jasna Boudard is a public art sculpture for TEMPO on the Trail.

“Wing Trace” features the flight of the Golden-cheeked Warbler, an endangered songbird native to Central Texas. A sequence of panels traces its motion frame by frame, oriented toward its exclusive nesting grounds in the Texas Hill Country.

Reflective insets invite passerby to see themselves mirrored within the silhouettes. Their movement animates the work, linking human motion with the natural rhythms of the surrounding landscape.

This marvel stands 8’ tall and 25’ wide and lives by the Seaholm Intake Building for one year (right off the Butler Trail around Lady Bird Lake, visible from Cesar Chavez st and the Austin Public Library).

With immense gratitude for @thetrailconservancy and @cityofaustinarts for sponsoring this project, and @topher_sipes and @kasl.studio for bringing it to life.

✨ Introducing Ocean Overhead — a glowing canopy of interactive jellyfish now floating above Thinkery’s Group Entry space!

Created by local artist @jasnaboudard through our first-ever Artist in Residency, this installation was shaped by community input, hands-on workshops, and the joyful curiosity of our visitors. The result? A magical, motion-responsive art piece that brings the deep sea sky-high. 🌊💡

Come experience it in person on your next visit, and dive deeper into Jasna’s creative process on our blog: thinkeryaustin.org/ocean-overhead

“Surface Tension” is my largest scale artwork to date.

Projected onto the historic Seaholm Intake Facility on Lady Bird Lake, this “visual and sonic nature hug” is a fluid tapestry of water surfaces I have filmed around Austin. Paired with the incredible melodic house track “Flying Dreams” from @one_u_music , these shifting vignettes evoke the beauty of the surrounding nature that is the pulse of this vibrant city.

I have so much gratitude to everyone who helped bring this piece to life.

First to @design.austin and @thetrailconservancy for making WaterWork such a magical event, to @emily.eisenhart and @justin.ryan.rankin for creating this community, to @rivianofficial and @pentagramdesign for making this possible, and the @ilios_productions team for projecting my work larger than life!

A huge congrats to the 15 artists who were selected to showcase their work (especially my love Topher Sipes for being the epic finale!)

Yesterday’s Bird Drawing workshop was such a lovely afternoon 🦢

There was a great turnout and everyone was thrilled with their experience and new bird drawings. The weather was perfect, and we got the best sunset!

A huge thank you to Maddie from @thetrailconservancy for helping organize this event and @topher_sipes for sharing his impressive bird drawing skills.

Thinking of hosting one more workshop in February as a closing event for Wing Trace (which will hopefully find a permanent home after its time on the trail). Time flies!!

Who wants to join the next one? by @jasnaboudard

Hosting a bird drawing workshop this Sunday! 🪿🐦‍⬛🦜

I’ve been wanting to gather people at Wing Trace after the weather cooled, and it’s now the perfect time to enjoy making art outside. Come hang!

Drawing supplies and reference images will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your own materials and something to sit on! The picnic style workshop will be on the lawn directly behind the art piece.

Nov 1st, 4pm - 5:30pm

Stop #9 ✨ Featured Holotropic, 2026 by MetaCaustics. Holotropic is an animated video work of a dreamlike ecosystem of floating mushrooms that breathe. Inspired by the word’s meaning “moving toward wholeness”, holotropic is the term for a therapeutic breathwork style that induces altered states of consciousness. In this piece, luminous mushroom-like structures inhale and exhale, their porous stems resembling organic networks of energy coursing through bodies. The animation culminates in a vortex-like tunnel of perforated walls, drawing the viewer inward. At its center spins a glowing, morphing core of light - a symbol of the elemental forces that connect body, earth, and spirit.

Immersive and hypnotic, Holotropic invites audiences into an atmosphere of flowing, meditative rhythm. It not only creates a sense of wonder and presence, but also offers viewers the chance to consciously synchronize their breath with the pulsing forms, deepening their own embodied experience.

MetaCaustics is a collaborative new media art duo composed of camera artist Jasna Boudard and digital illustrator Topher Sipes. Their partnership merges analog and digital worlds through the shared language of light-based projection. Jasna brings a background in photography, video art, and immersive installation, while Topher contributes digital artwork that blends traditional drawing with VR and 3D design.

Together, they create immersive environments where light, movement, and elemental imagery converge, inviting viewers into spaces that feel both grounded and otherworldly. Their work explores the intersection of technology, embodiment, and sensory experience, transforming spaces into portals of presence and perception.

When you think you’ve finally figured things out, the universe challenges you to level up yet again.

I haven’t made a personal post in a while. So much has been happening - lessons in both the challenges and blessings. Despite the plans I had, life keeps showing me that there’s more in store for me and that expectations and reality rarely coincide. I’m learning over and over to slow down, surrender, and trust in divine timing.

Things I worked so hard for have been failing, while unexpected miracles show up effortlessly. Becoming is an ongoing journey, shedding more and more layers of who I thought I was and where I assumed I was going.

On a less spiritual note, I received a new job, an award, upcoming gigs and exhibitions and adventures. I’m letting go and embracing impermanence, however heartbreaking that may feel, as the universe never fails to provide abundance in spaces it clears away.

Cancer Twins ♋️✨
I’ve been waiting over a year to post these 🫣

The reason I went to Paris recently was to deliver this painting commission to a dear friend of mine. He felt ready to invest in some art and had been a big fan of my underwater painting series, so he requested one featuring crabs 🦀 because of his Cancer zodiac sign.

He also wanted me to keep it a surprise and deliver it in person “someday”. My problem solving mind decided to create a diptych (smaller canvases that create a larger combined work / easier to travel with) and wanted them to connect to each other. So I came up with these compositions that feature the parallel between the oceanic and the cosmic, a theme I often explore in my work.

And (it gets even better) when I reveled the artwork, he teared up and informed me that he had a twin that he lost at childbirth, and always had a connection to his lost sibling so this piece was deeply meaningful 🤯

How I intuited that I don’t know, but the story makes this one of my favorite paintings I’ve ever created. Merci Paul for trusting in my vision and the honor to finally share these with you 💗

Back in Austin after a month of travels, and just in time for the annual Waterwork!

It was such an honor to be a part of last year’s selected artists. Seeing my work projected on the historic Seaholm building and reflected on the water was deeply meaningful (especially considering my piece “Surface Tension” literally featured water surfaces)

I will be on a paddle board to immerse myself in this year’s line up. Who else is planning to see this incredible event by @design.austin and @thetrailconservancy ?

Sept 25 and 26 at sunset, see you there ATX 🚣‍♀️ by @jasnaboudard

Wing Trace photoshoot 🪽✔️

I haven’t modeled for a full on photo session in like… decades?? Thank you @avideyeimagery for these incredible shots at my installation and for making me feel beautiful 🤩

So many gems captured, do you all have a favorite? It was so hard to choose (there’s more, stay tuned).

Go check out my public art piece “Wing Trace” on the trail in Downtown Austin, it’ll be there until Feb 2027! by @jasnaboudard
