I passed the Series 7 exam!!!

It has been a long journey but with help of the Lord, my wonderful and supportive family, and my amazing and encouraging colleagues at @genwealthfa , I got it done!

I would like to send a few special thank yous to:

- My beautiful wife @candacemarshall_00 and daughter Reaghan: For being supportive and understanding when I couldn’t be as present as I wanted to be for a season to study and prepare for the exam. I love y’all to the moon and back! 🫶🏽
- @georgiakatestuart : For tutoring and holding me accountable to excellence. She was amazing throughout the journey.
- Janet Walker and John Shrewsbury: For their patience and encouragement. Janet was even waiting on me in the lobby of the testing center to give me a big ole hug when I got off the elevator. They are shining examples of what top tier leadership should be.
- West Little Rock Office: Every one of my colleagues at this location are great. The WEST side is the BEST side lol!

I plan to continually learn, grow, and push myself. So, here’s to getting ready for the next big exam, the Series 66! by @jasonamarshall

Last night, fellow advisors Brandon Barber, Alec Daril, and I had the pleasure of hosting a client appreciation dinner at @yayaslr.

Evenings like this are a small way for us to say thank you to the people who have chosen to allow us to see them to and through retirement. Every one of these relationships started with a conversation across a table, so it felt fitting to gather around one together, share a meal, and simply enjoy each other’s company.

A special thank you to Donnie Williams of @jackson_national for hosting us and helping make the evening possible. And thank you to the team at Yaya’s for taking such wonderful care of our group. (My filet and berry cobbler didn’t stand a chance.)

What a day at the @broughtonsbbq Grand Opening!

My family and I came out yesterday to show some love, and let me tell you, Broughton’s is a 10 out of 10, from the hospitality to the food!

The catfish was perfectly seasoned and white as snow inside. The burger was juicy, real ground beef on a toasted bun. The smoked chicken was seasoned, tender, and juicy.

And they do NOT skimp on the portions! You will leave full and happy.

A huge congratulations to Derick and Doll Houston on your new restaurant! You can feel the love and care in every plate. We’ll definitely be back!

What a day at the Department of Human Services Health & Harvest Fair!

This past Wednesday, my colleague and fellow advisor Brandon Barber and I had the pleasure of representing @genwealthfa at the fair. Hundreds of people came out, and we enjoyed connecting with so many of them, especially those starting to think about what their retirement could look like.

A heartfelt thank you to Heather Rhodes-Newburn for the invitation and for putting together such a wonderful event. And none of this would have been possible without @shamim.a.o , who made the connection. Shamim, you are a true trailblazer. Thank you!

Had a great evening at @step_ministries Wings of Hope Fundraising Banquet at Chenal Country Club on Tuesday.

It was good to be in a room full of people committed to making a real difference in our community. STEP Ministries is doing important work, and I enjoyed learning more about their mission.

Full-circle moments hit different.

I used to watch Scott Inman on Channel 7 News. Now, I get to call him a fellow colleague and had the opportunity to sit in as a co-host on the Get Ready for the Future Show.

That was a pretty surreal moment for me.

But more than anything, it reminded me of how far God has brought me.

The doors He’s opened. The people He’s placed in my life. The opportunities I never could have planned for myself.

I’m grateful for the journey, humbled by the opportunity, and excited about what God is doing in this next chapter.

From watching him on TV to sitting beside him in the studio.

Only God. 🙏🏾
