my fall tbr 🍁📖🍂🧡

finally getting around to editing / posting this! (reels are not my thing.) i have a rather ambitious fall / spooky season tbr but i am feeling confident!! i’ve already ticked off victorian psycho and gone girl (3.5 and 5 stars, respectively, not to spoil my october wrap-up or anything) and i’m currently reading monstrilio! even if i don’t get to all of these, i’m chipping away at it and having a good time.. a much better time than my reading in september, luckily!!

what should i prioritize from this list? what have you read here and loved (or hated)? 🫣 and what are you currently reading for spooky season?! 👻🎀 can’t wait to hear from you all!!

spend an autumnal morning with me! 🎃🍂🧡

as much as i miss the peace i feel during the summer, i absolutely love the fall time! one of my family’s annual traditions is going to this farm, picking out gourds, getting apple cider and donuts, and spending the day together :) it was a beautiful day out today and who doesn’t love being surrounded by pumpkins during the fall?!

i’m also currently reading victorian psycho (and enjoying it, might i add). i’ve seen so many poor reviews of it and while i do think it’s taking itself a bit too seriously at times, it’s lowkey helping me fight back against my reading slump 🫣

library used book sale haul 📚🛍️!!

i think it’s safe to say that i lose all impulse control when it comes to a library book sale. like $2 a book.. how can i pass that up? especially if it’s a book i’ve contemplated buying at full price! i really didn’t intend on buying all of these, but i did find quite a few that i’m beyond excited for!! i also bought a couple books i’ve already read and loved but didn’t own (sirens & muses + all fours)!

have you read any of these / what would you recommend i start with? personally i’m eager to get to eartheater, what i’d rather not think about, and hot stew, but genuinely all of them have me feeling excited and i’d love to hear from you all with what you would recommend! :D i hope your weekend is off to a great start!

september wrap-up 🌅🍂📖

sooooo, as i’m sure you can tell, september was not my month when it came to reading 😅 it’s been a chaotic time and i’ve been in a major slump. and when i’m in a slump, i turn to books outside of my typical genres (as you can see from the freida books and the romance!) however, even with reading outside my usual type of books, still nothing really stuck. :/ i’m hoping that diving into my fall tbr will help me start getting out of this rut and hopefully life will start settling down!

what was your fav read of september? mine was clearly switzy, i really quite enjoyed that one! and even more importantly: what book(s) do you recommend for getting out of a slump?! i need any recs i can get 🙏🏻🫡

here’s a little sneak peek at just some of the reads i’m hoping to get to this fall / spooky season! i have a reel in the works of my full (and lengthy) tbr!! i’m hoping to post more soon, but life’s been hectic so apologies for not posting much recently, though i’ve still been trying to be active! :)

summer reading recap 🌞🍉🌊📚

seeing as today is the first day of fall where i am, i figure it’s a good time to reflect on my summer reading! (this is solely based on when i had my summer break from work, so mid-june to the end of august) i did a decent-ish job at reading the books from my summer tbr, though of course i could have done better. i’d also say i had a pretty successful summer in terms of my reads. i had a few new favs and a lot of 4+ star books, which is always exciting!!

as sad as i am to see summer go, the fall weather is inching toward us and the leaves are changing! i have a lot of exciting prospects for my fall / spooky season tbr! (I may even have a post coming soon regarding that)

spend a bookish day with me 📚

yesterday my mom and i ventured out to the library, to barnes and noble, and to lunch! i wasn’t looking for anything in particular at either the library or barnes, but i ended up checking out a few books! and then whenever i go to the library, i find it nearly impossible to buy books because it’s like.. i’ve got 4 books in the car that i just got for FREE! i 🫶🏻 the library <3 but of course, it never hurts just to browse, and browse i surely did!!

i’ve already started the grownup though i’m only a few pages in. i’m also already halfway through half his age and i don’t quite have words yet for my thoughts and feelings..

if you’ve read any of the books i looked at and would recommend them, please let me know! i’m easily tempted and will gladly go back and check them out! 😅 i hope you all had a good weekend.. i can’t believe we’re already back to another week tomorrow :,( but here’s hoping it’s good one for us!! 🙏🏻🥰

ten before the end (of 2026)!!

i’ve heard this phrase used a lot on booktube before so i wanted to do my own take on it (and i’ve been seeing a lot of versions on here too!!) of course i ideally will read more than ten books within the rest of the year, but these are ones i want to try and prioritize! i’m currently reading black bag and i’m hoping to get to kingfisher in the next couple days as well. monstrilio and open wide are also on my fall tbr so i’m praying i check those off too!

do you recommend I prioritize any of these? and what’s on your ten before the end? hope you all are having a great weekend so far :D !! the fall feeling was definitely in the air today and it feels pretty nice :)

my TBR veterans

aka the books that i’ve owned for like 4+ years and still haven’t got around to reading yet…. :O i included descriptions of why i got each of these and/or why I haven’t gotten around to them yet. honestly none of them are valid like I bought the book, I should read the book .. but sometimes the time just slips away 😭 so please feel free to influence me on these!! if you have a fav on here let me know and i will prioritize it!

also just want to acknowledge that i know i haven’t really been active on here. i’m still acclimating back to working and despite the fact that this school year has been off to a good start, i just get home and feel tired LOL and i have had such a lack of motivation to post and to read. so this is my attempt at getting back into the swing of things and posting!!

my august wrap-up! 📚

sadly this means… summer is over :/ i can already tell my september wrap-up will look nothing like this LOL and that’s ok! honestly august was a pretty solid reading month. i only felt relatively indifferent about one book (last summer in the city) and then all the others were either fine, good, or great! i found some new favs: almost life, body language (out now!), and kitten to name a few. i also read my first olga ravn and enjoyed it! eager to pick up more of her work going forward, ideally the wax child this fall!

how was your reading month in august? and do you have any reading plans going into september? my goals are to read through the titles i have from the booker longlist (currently reading switzy, then black bag, the renovation, and the vivisectors). then ideally i’ll start my fall / spooky season tbr!!

there’s no school tomorrow or monday (long weekend yay!!) so i can decompress now. hope you all enjoy your weekend :)

what i read during my last week of summer vacation 📚

so the sad day has finally come…. i went back to work today ❤️‍🩹😔 a moment of silence for all the educators returning to work! honestly this wasn’t my most productive reading week, mainly because i’ve had the existential dread looming over me. that’s also why I haven’t posted on here a lot either! i apologize! despite that, i still enjoyed what I read during the week, even if it was a bit less than I might have read typically during the summer.

what have you been reading recently? i can’t wait to see everyone’s august wrap-ups! mine will be coming soon! (I was hoping to finish switzy this month, but i fear that won’t be happening LOL) excited to hear from you all!! :)

my 1k cupcake 🧁🥳🥹🫶🏻

thank you so much for 1,000 followers! it feels surreal to step back and conceptualize that. 1,000 people follow me?? it just feels unreal that 1,000 people care about my little book account that i started as a creative outlet, that 1,000 people care about my silly little book reviews and care about my opinions, and actually take my book recommendations!!!! it blows my mind, and yet here you all are following me!!

i’m overwhelmed with gratitude for you all and for what this account has done for me. i have met so many wonderful, well-spoken, creative, talented, and compassionate people i otherwise would have never met, and for that i am beyond grateful. i’ve been sent books by publishers to read early, all because people care about my thoughts! don’t even get me started on how you all have severely lengthened my tbr…

i created this account at the end of 2022 but quickly gave up posting on it.. i didn’t like the idea of putting myself out there and i started to feel discouraged, like my photos weren’t “aesthetic enough” or my posts weren’t “good enough” or my reviews weren’t “insightful enough.” but then in February of this year, needing a creative outlet and wanting to talk about books outside of goodreads, i thought “what the heck” and logged back into this account. if you had told me just 6 months ago that i’d go from the 88 followers i had remaining from my first time around to 1,000, i wouldn’t have believed you. it’s still shocking, even as i type all this.

TLDR: thank you, thank you, thank you all!! i can’t wait to continue building my little corner of the internet. words can’t express (although I’ve tried my best here) how grateful i am for my jasonslibros community here 🥹🫶🏻 by @jasonslibros
